Oh I've been at Ground Zero for a few "X is the next CwC!" claims. They are all completely off the mark. People need to realize that there is not going to be a next Chris. The whole thing with him was really a perfect storm. They don't happen every other year.
I'd say in around 2011 Chris finally learned the lesson that most/all trolling victims eventually learn. You aren't going to defeat the Internet in some epic battle (I swear, so many of these people could avoid so much trouble, but they all take this antagonistic view towards the Internet and essentially shut themselves in a room with a hornets nest and start hitting it with a stick.) incidentally, that timing seems to have coincided with most dedicated trolls giving up and moving along.
So I guess it's a sort of chicken and egg thing. Did he dry up causing the trolls to leave, or did they leave, and stop fueling his escapades, in the sense that if he had never drawn their eye, his web presence would have amounted to the occasional "Hello my loyal fanbase." videos and a infrequently visited Website or two.
