It's beyond me to understand how people think anyone has some magical, silver bullet to just go make all the problems disappear. If you want to get rid of a hornets nest you have to go in and kill it. A sting or two is just a risk you have to run.

Yesterday (Monday), the Israeli Air Force identified several operatives in the Iranian regime’s ballistic missile array operating in western Iran and preparing to launch missiles toward the State of Israel.

Immediately upon identification, an Israeli Air Force aircraft struck and dismantled that ballistic missile launcher, and eliminated the operatives before they were able to launch the missiles.

The IDF continues to operate persistently to dismantle the ballistic missile infrastructure in western Iran in order to reduce, as much as possible, the scope of missile fire directed toward Israeli territory.

Similar footage has been posted out of Lebanon with 2 different incidents where they manage to get the rockets off but are stuck immediately after.

Shortly after the identification, the launchers were struck and dismantled.

I think the main thing right now is more that the Strait being closed doesn’t really help Iran. But for US refineries is more along the lines of "We built our valves starting from standard parts" so its a case of customizing vs. new manufacture. The US has never stopped using wooden props. I have forgotten the material science but we have a species of spruce or fir tree with wood that makes for props better than any metal or synthetic material and it is cheaper. If you were cold-booting a wooden prop industry it wouldn't make economic sense but since it was already created and capitalized in the 1930s, the profit margins vs alternatives are enough to keep it going and modernized/competitive.

It is usually made into high-sulfur diesel which is only good for use in ships and the turd world with no emissions regulations. The US is the only nation that can process it without it needing to be mixed with other oil to cut it or a buch of expensive chemicals (IIRC the US process still uses some chemical components but a small degree of them)

But the oil market is a global market. It is like a sponge. Meeting the needs of the turd world with bunker oil means they aren't trying to buy higher grade fuels or oil, which increases availability and reduces the price. Given geographic realities this benefits the US disproportionately but still lowers global prices via availability.

Not to mention with Venezuelan oil coming into the american market plus the huge oil find in Guyana that sour crude that needs more refining.
Assuming Venezuela in the next few months allows more american investment and doesn't pull the rug on the US things will probably be okay for most people in north America. Maybe Chinesium becomes expensive but 3d printing helps some of that risk.

I opined that Iran's autistic focus on Israel, in the context of its post revolution government was silly as up until that point Israel and Iran had very cordial relations and nothing really to fight about since they were so far away from each other.

Post revolution Iran was the one who decided to pick a fight with the jews, and I stated the only reason I could think of for why was that the Revoluton needed eternal enemies and Israel was a convenient target.
