Goodbye Volcano High - "The Future of Gaming", The Parody Game of the Beloved Snoot Game Franchise

Most I saw was "Well, its an interesting take" or "Huh, getting Disco Elysium vibes" aand thats about it.
On closer look, it has a Lovecraftian horror theme. Protagonist got a drop of otherworldly knowledge, like make a human think, feel and see like an eldritch being but keep him in a human body. But that's just my take on it from what I saw

I am more interested in exit 665 than new one. But it's far more complex than making a VN, considering that they intend to implement a battle system.
Btw, have anyone else noticed that that Ashley looks very similar to gender swapped Reed. Not to diss cavemanon, mind you
You joke but considering the angle of the game being about addiction and vices that may have quite literally been the inspiration.
If Ashfall is actually older than Wani or congruent with Wani then I would not at all be surprised to find out that Ashley started life as an errant musing about a genderbent Reed. In fact I think that's probably what happened given that both are artistic performer types, same exact palette, and both have a drug addiction.
Bojack takes longer to break you, but its also has an ugly and unsalvageable artstyle
It also has a massive identity crisis where it can't decide whether it wants to be a character study on Bojack or a wacky Simpsons style show where Todd and Peanut Butter and whoever else go on zany adventures and get up to hijinx. Wait, what's that viewer? You think we dragged our ass for multiple seasons talking about falling in love with a meat animal chicken and robot sex slave CEOs or whatever else and cutting our own dramatic moments off at the knees with quippy humor? And so now that the emotional stuff is happening you feel it's unearned and shallow? Well guess what sweaty, maybe you're too stupid to understand the show. Maybe you just don't get it.

Yeah, I don't get that pretentious wank fest about Californian problems of Hollywood has-been who flushed his life in the toilet with drug and alcohol addiction abandoned by everyone he alienated with his antics. Such deep themes, I might drown in them
You mean you don't relate to a character who's a has been celebrity who has money and ample resources to mend his ailments but doesn't because he's a bridge burner?

I don't need to relate to a character to find them interesting and dynamic. The issue with Bojack is that he's BORING and all his friends and family are BORING and the stupid shit they do to each other is TRITE.

ETA: There are a lot of relateable things about Bojack, tbh. He's over the hill, he's stuck in the past, he's struggling to live in a world that has passed him by, his incredibly abusive upbringing lead to habitual feelings of inadequacy and self doubt, he was burdened with expectations from far too young of an age, he hangs out with miserable people who drag him down constantly, he compensates for all of this with an insecure and bloated ego, he's terrified of failure or letting others down.

Bojack is a genuinely interesting character, the issue is that the showrunners can't write for shit and both they and the audience who like the show are too retarded and mollycoddled to see anything deeper than freshman level psychology without getting The Ick.

Adding my two cents there's a few concepts about Bojack specifically that I like but what i don't get is how people overrate them. Some of these are legit "shower thoughts" like basic self reflection trying to pretend it's deeper than that but also some ok criticisms of a hollywood type trying to deal with reality. How the show handles this is either with the subtly of a tornado or with the depth of a cup of water.

Slight Tism Rant: I think the problem as a whole with media like GVH is the thing I said in the middle where it's like people can understand these concepts but what these types want is full relatability which for most people isn't possible. A character struggling with their identity can be understood on a base level but they get mad when you don't understand their reality but the thing is you AREN'T them so you can only get it from a secondary party point of view which is what they don't want. This ends up creating weirdly self ways of characterization where the characters feel the world doesn't get them when the world does get them it's just that most people deal with their issues with a shrug because "it's just life". Sitting around wallowing isn't solving your problems it's just staying in misery.

There was one show from 90s with similar theme. Duckman. But difference between it and Bojack is writers had wit, humor and had something to say, unlike Bojack. It's rather short, only 4 seasons and 70 episodes, doesn't drag, verbose but not devolve into verbal masturbation about self importance. Jokes there are jokes and not puns, humor is far more relatable and funny to normal people rather than made for Californians by Californians.

Cavemanon revealed on Twitter how Asley's casual outfit will look like.
The bikini top and jacket combo makes sense from a character design standpoint. She's attractive, has lots of tattoos, in very good shape, and she's physically active as a dancer. Having a lightweight top that shows off the goods and allows for free movement makes sense while the jacket allows for practicality since it provides some level of privacy as well as environmental protection. The jacket can be easily retreated further into or shed as the situation demands. It works both as practical clothing as well as a character detail as you have a character who actively wants to share herself with others (not like that you perv) but is either unable to or afraid to do so.

Cavemanon has revealed another Volcaldera Ashfall character on Xitter, She is Ashley's friend from what we know.

That kinda answers some questions about how Ashley ended up where she is now. Though ironically we now know more about the personality of Ashley's friend than Ashley herself because she is just knocked out for nearly the entire demo.

Something about this character design rubs me the wrong way, I think its the black eyes. Screams "someone's edgy OC".
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if she wears contact lenses because, well you know there are enough people in real life that dress up as edgy OC versions of themselves.

i mean the entire premise of snoot game and Mia from Wani was Caveman-anon taking "someone's edgy OC" and writing them to be somewhat compelling characters, or atleast entertaining ones. I would think its intentional
