I don't think fetishes are inherently harmful; I think being irresponsible about where one discusses them can be. I don't think you understand. BDSM is one of the most socially acceptable kinks (even though most people's knowledge of it is poor) because most people do it in a safe environment. There is a reason why the community has safe words etc and how it is different to cutting someone irl.
