Games With Really Spergy Fanbases That You Still Enjoy

The what now?
Fanartist was handed cookies at a convention. They had needles in them. Said fanartis made Frisk x Sans art or some shit, so that's what people think they got needle cookies for.

I am partial to the Final Fantasy series as well as Resident Evil, and both of those fandoms can get a little spergy at times (though not as bad as say Sonic or Undertale).

And in the realm of tabletop games, World of Darkness probably has the worst fanbase of any RPG I've ever seen, a fanbase riddled with SJW's and pretentious Goth burnouts, but I love the setting for it anyway (well, the early setting anyway, never cared for the Revised metaplot stuff).

You know, I shouldn't be surprised, but I kind of am.

On topic: Danganronpa. Sort of. The first two games were good. Then there was an anime that retconned everything interesting and replaced it with a deus ex machina plot device that was re-used from some pulp novel that was universally poorly received. Spergy fanbase aside, I still like those first two games. The third game was pretty bad other than the ending which was one of the finest trolls from a developer I've seen.

The moral of the story: Anime ruins everything.

..."Those two that suck don't count." I guess that makes me part of the spergy fanbase then!

For me, it'd have to be S.T.A.L.K.E.R.. Between the unusual flavor of spergy in the respective subreddit and the drama in its modding community, it's almost unbearable. It's so niche, though, that it's not generally an issue unless you're talking to someone who's involved..

I'm going to spice this thread up a little bit; how about a game that's IMPOSSIBLE to play because of the shit fan base?

Left 4 dead 1 & 2

I'll bite. Elaborate. I haven't touched that game in years.

Can't say I have much to contribute to this thread, personally. :( I would say MGS but that fandom bothers me far less than something like Undertale.

I've got several, so I'll play.

League of Legends: I don't know how people can get angry at the game. There's no voice-chat and if you're still stupid enough to get angry at text, then go fuck yourself.

Fire Emblem: Old fans have sticks up their asses but new fans are so fucking self-victimized and self-righteous it makes me want to die.

Competitive Smash 4: Too much bitching about characters and tiers, not enough actually playing the game. Also 90% tier-whores who suck at the game.

Marvel vs Capcom: This series is busted and doesn't know how to balance characters. Get over it.

Overwatch: This game has flaws. Tons of them. And the competitive sucks. People who defend this game like it's a sacred flame need to stop sucking Blizzard's dick as they're the last company in the industry that needs protection.

Lastly, Team Fortress 2: Yes, Valve sucks. But the game isn't suddenly unfun just because competitive mode isn't working, despite that most of you maggots complained about the inclusion of the mode anyways. Buncha spergs.

Xcom. It has Noah Antwiler/Spoony as its big fanboy. I liked the original series but people deify it and shit all over the new games. They're nice but flawed. Same as the original.

Really? I guess I shouldn't be surprised but I hadn't heard anyone say anything bad about XCOM 2012. Most of the complaints about XCOM 2 were just that it was a bit derivative

I prefer to call it kick for dead. Versus mode is unplayable you'll be kicked and thrown out of matches for no good reason non-stop and people act extremely rabid over matches so they serial kick everybody they believe is falling behind.

I find Pathfinder spergs are the worst. SJWs I can deal with because they don't actually play tabletop games so I never have to worry about them at the table. But go to a gaming club and join a Pathfinder game and you're guaranteed at least one minmaxing weenie, one weaboo, and one oversexed furfag.
