Games With Really Spergy Fanbases That You Still Enjoy

On-topic I would say the Baldur's Gate community. There are some infamous Pedophiles, Zoophiles, and extreme Narcissists in the community in addition to stuff like Eastern Europeans selling mods. I would say that my first lolcows were in that community.

Know some other fun stuff like a guy almost being sold into actual slavery in order to program.

Shit I sincerely apologize for the rather belated reply, but what gets the Fallout community on my nerves is the divide between two factions that I have noticed: the New Vegas fanboys and the Bethesdacucks.


New Vegas fanboys prove to be quite an irritant to me. I've sunken a hundred hours into FNV and I think it is a noticeable step up from Fallout 4 and 3. There is no good or evil path as you can have good charisma while at the same time being apart of Legion: don't trust me? Take a look for yourself. Still however, Fallout New Vegas is still a Bethesda product despite what many people believe: I of course like to pretend that Bethesda didn't publish or wasn't involved in the production of Fallout New Vegas in any way, but reality bitch slaps really hard.


Now for the negatives about New Vegas fanboys. The game is still buggy and requires some significant patches on PC or mods. There's some purist out there who think that mods corrupt the sanctity of a game, but that's just their view.


Bethesdacucks. Dear god, I'll take up half of this thread. Bethesda in my opinion is on the same level as EA, Valve, Activision, Ubisoft, Microsoft, Sony, Capcom, Konami, and so forth. Todd Howard is clearly a lying scumbag who is still Sean Murray 1.0: promising things in games that clearly wouldn't make it to the final product. Bethesda fanboys like to say that Fallout 3 and Fallout 4 are still good games, to which I have no problem with since taste is a rather subjective thing. What one may find enjoyable, others may find it shit....but...........................


When you go around and say that Fallout 4 is somehow a better game in the franchise because muh...graphics than some of the older games like 1, 2, and Tactics and Van-Buren(sorry, guys. Van-Buren will remain the true Fallout 3 for me.). You clearly have stepped into the pit of fanboyism.

cRPG faggots are the worst. It's understandable though. Every franchise they adore has been raped, they have to mostly cling to shit 9+ years old since everything else is diluted garbage (in what world should Fallout be considered a pinnacle of its genre), and they know nobody gives a shit about them or their games. They weren't just franchise-cucked, they were genre-cucked.

Slightly different form of this is the New /v/egas fanboy who pretends to like cRPG's but only plays modded New Vegas and makes ebim rants about Bethestards (xD) I blame Hbomberguy for causing the rise of these faggots.

I'm one of the 12 people who still plays Tribes: Ascend and I can tell you that the fanbase has gone to complete dogshit. Griefers, smurfs, hackers, and nolife uberspergs with 30 accounts all highest rank (true story). It's a complete shitshow but a solid game. Hopefully the community finds new members and unspergs itself but that will probably never happen.

WoWfags- both Legion and Vanilla. But mostly Vanilla. Vanillafags have some good points but also some completely retarded ones. They're annoying as fuck about both. Anyone going "muh hard" "muh hard" about grinding and shit like that needs to fuck right off. Besides the constant bickering and infighting, it has a sizeable portion of general retards.

I'd also say Overwatch too but I don't like that game. :julay: Epic weeen....:epik:

Fire Emblem. This fandom is fucking MADE of whiny, entitled, screechy assholes who throw tit tantrums whenever IS doesn't give them exactly what they want.

(I admit I have a bit more sympathy for the "new fans" side, however, since I've been into it from the Blazing Blade days and the elitism coming from my fellow "oldschool fans" is all kinds of embarrassing and gross.)

Paper Mario because god help you if you admit you like any of the games past the first two games to any of the spergs in the fanbase. The third game is generally seen as okay by them, though, but it does get its share of criticism for the gameplay and 2edgy4u storyline that seems out of place in a Mario game.

Fallout. The reddit page for Fallout alone goes on and on about how New Vegas/Obsidian is godlike, how Fallout 4 is a "good game, bad Fallout game" (Jesus Christ, you'd roll your eyes if you saw how many times that phrase is spoken), and how much "X was a MISSED OPPORTUNITY." Then there are places like No Mutants Allowed, which chimp out over Bethesda owning the series and "raping the lore", and refuse to let go of a stupid grudge they've been holding for nearly 10 years.

Doesn't stop me from loving the shit out of 3, New Vegas, and 4, but the Fallout community really sucks ass.

I have that experience (on a less severe scale) pretty regularly with Guns of Icarus. I've seen it drop as low as 43 players in game some nights.

The worst part of it is also the best part. The most toxic parts of the community come from some of the worst players and people who drown in pools. If you realize that, it becomes a wonderfully delicious salt-water taffy of irony.

They're still salty about 3 for being "Oblivion with Guns" and "raping the lore."

As far as games goes, I think the Fallout community is one of the spergiest about their series' lore. Basically, 1, 2, and New Vegas are sacred cows, and there must be absolutely zero deviation or twist to the lore they bring. Any perceived retcon, even for something as simple as a drug, is met with either endless bitching or convoluted analysis's about the "justification" of the retcon.

There's nothing wrong with being immersed in the world of your favorite games, but these guys take it too far.

Oh man, you should see the Latin American servers, especially if you play modded maps. I can't count how many times I was vote kicked by screaming high-pitched Chilean and Argentinian kids for literally nothing.

One of the most annoying things about Fallout spergs is how utterly humorless they are. They don't seem to realize that TES is Bethesda's "serious" series and that Fallout has always been about satire, goofy shit, and comically high levels of ultra violence. Same shit with Metal Gear, the games are intended to be goofy. It made me realize how many gamers were newfags when people freaked out at stuff Skull face's lines in MGSV for being silly when the earlier games had shit like this.

I heard that Fallout 2 alone had shit like ghosts, a Ghoul that survived being buried alive for a long ass time, and a Super Mutant that would fuck you in the ass for losing an arm wrestling match. Something tells me that the fanbase took the series and its lore more seriously than the developers ever did.

Oh, no, there are some people who loathe Fallout 2 because it's not serious enough either. No joke.

My unending rancor with people who want Fallout to be ALL GRIMDARK ALL THE TIME is why I generally dislike Chris Avellone too. Dude got his panties in a huge bunch over any sign of things getting better in the universe to the point he basically spent the entirety of New Vegas' DLCs making his author avatar sperg out about WIPING THE SLATE CLEAN.

Anyhow, I'm just gonna wait for the Autistic ratings and be content that I've said my peace.

Edit: Also, the two Objectively Right paths in New Vegas are NCR and Independant Vegas.
