I'd be cautious about the game.

The main dev that came up with the idea, art and narrative has been kicked off the team by the other two (?) developers, which then led to a 6-month hiatus in development, only recently resuming again.

I didn't manage to glean why they kicked the guy off the dev team.

Was that the same guy who really didn't want yuri fanart around the game, or is that another game I'm thinking of?

If you join their discord server and search for him, you can see he's assigned as being on the team, despite having deleted all of his messages, though it is true that they have just left a long hiatus.

I wouldn't go that far. I glanced over the groomcord screenshots, and, in one of them he says that he "would be fine with yuri if it were interesting" (slightly paraphrasing). From what I see, he only hates "siegheilis" because the fans are obnoxious, not because of the yirifaggotry itself. Tolerating degeneracy if it's "interesting" or "not obnoxious" isn't "based".
I have an extraordinary ability, a divine sense [1], which allows me to easily see and determine if something is degenerate or not at a glance. When I first saw this in '24 I was extremely repulsed.
It's unfortunately very rare to find a game with a female protagonist in {current year} which isn't degenerate.

Gloomwood is another game published by Newblood. It's pretty good, I dig the Victorian aesthetic, and the stealth mechanics are well fleshed out compared to a lot of other games that incorporate it. The big downside though is that Gianni voices the most common enemy in the game. Otherwise, it's solid.

The game looks interesting tbh as it has a Dishonored vibe. Can do without the cornball Gianni though.

You've miss his point entirely, I think, despite me now getting where you're coming from. It's less that he'd accept yuri if it were merely interesting. He likely falls into the camp of "shit written for the coom is inherently uninteresting," in which he is right. I think his point is more "yuri COULD be interesting if written with something in mind that is not coom." I'm sure people could make stories with dyke characters that do actually have substance. But the fact of the matter is, coom is uninteresting and also the main characters of Peripeteia are apparently straight.

That's what I thought of when I first saw it too. It's a lot like Dishonered and has some immersive sim elements in it. Anyways Dishonered 1 is the best among the three

From the top of my head i can bring up Veronica from Fallout New Vegas and i'm sure a lot of people would too.

The problem with writing a character is that if you put their sexual orientation front and center, the story is going to revolve around it and most people out there when they do stories about genderspecials it is either for cooming or to cry about how their lives are terrible.

it's the subtle and natural progression of the closer you get to giygas the worse his influence gets on the world.

and with Yume Nikki you see all the theory clowns who want to attach what they want to see to it despite how yeah that is how the game is supposed to be interpreted but once again we've seen how troons make everything about themselves. With OFF, the whole meta stuff it does is a little in the background until the end and even then it isn't screamed at you through the whole game.

My favorite Yume Nikki theory is that Madotsuki is a half-Indigenous South American half-Japanese mutt who was bullied for much of her life as a "hafu" and she desperately wishes she is a White Aryan which is why Poniko exists with perfect blonde hair and blue eyes

While visually it does draw from Dishnored, it really doesn't play like it.

It's mostly a mix of Thief and Resident Evil (4). Supernatural abilities come in the form of elixirs you cook up from enemy parts you gather, that allow you to transform yourself into something resembling the average tranny:



Different monsters get you different transformations with different abilities, which you have to research, so there's a bit of System Shock 2/Prey DNA in it as well.

You also get a RE4-esque suitcase inventory and a bunch of weapons/gadgets to use.

The gameplay loop also involves a lot of breaking and entering (main areas and optional locations), to hunt for loot, you can then take to a merchant to sell, using the profits to purchase stuff.

It's also a very chonky game. It's maybe, 50% done and there's already 20 to 30 hours of content in it.

Gloomwood and Fallen Aces are two of the better indieslop immersive sims.

The entire drama with Cugu is genuinely brainrotten, indicative of people who don't do any attempt to inform themselves of what is going on and if what was said on the internet is true at all, and confirm's the developers comment's on how the indie scene is a faggot-y clique that actively tries to destroy itself for self-benefit.
The shit I expected people to drive 9th Exodus up a wall with was the direct comments on the grand Indie Conspiracy Theory, and how rabbid cliques form around these communities to basically protect and server as a warband against other indie games, but that never happened. Here are the comment's on that.

The takes and comments that got him in hot water were the most milquetoast, banal, takes you can have, yes the Signalis community is a hellscape of lesbian fetishists and they are gross, and yes these people's discord server's are prime pedophile spots, this has been shown over and over again.

HK has great movement, good platforming, and the exploring is awesome. Good enemy variety, nice graphics, great atmosphere. It's a great game and it set a standard for metroidvania games
