Game of Thrones Thread

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
Well in that case, I stand corrected.
I can't really blame the showrunners for omitting it. It's blatantly obvious in the books the prophecy is about Dany and it doesn't help her chapters be any less boring.

How can someone NOT root for a man that does something hilariously epic as THIS!?

They Greyscale scene was...yeah. I can't imagine what Jorah's body will look like when it's over, though. Definitely not something that'll get him in the sack with Daenerys, though.

At this point Euron is a Motorhead song and a couple swigs of beer away from being a WWE character.

Hell I'd argue he's that away from Lemmy himself!
Come to think of it, he's basically the love child of Lemmy and Macho Man Savage.

Seriously though, it's been a long time since a show has made me go from being indifferent to a character to being a fan like this has. I still wish that they'd established his infatuation with magic from the books by now though.

EDIT: Was anyone else reminded of this panel from Frank Miller's Daredevil run when he killed Obara with her own spear?:

Did they ever mention Cersei's fortune from when she was a little girl in the show? Specifically the part about
one of her younger brothers killing her?

Apparently nothing gets Cersei going like murder and torture. But we needed a good twincest scene.

God, Olenna went out like a champ with the mic drop to end all mic drops. She confessed to being the one who murdered Joffery just because "I wanted Cersei to know it was me." And now Cersei will have to live with the knowledge that her son's murderer died a peaceful death, robbing her of the chance to get revenge like she did with Ellaria Sand.

Also, a lot of people are complaining about Dany but I still like her.

- lelkek Greyworm gonna git fukkd
- I was hoping to see some Gregor action in this episode, but...oh well. :(
- I want more Hound. Where's The Hound, dammit!?
- Seeing Cersei's tits was great and all, but then I gotta remind myself that it was a stunt double.
- Jorah looked surprisingly well. Better than I expected.
- Seeing Bran and Sansa reunite gave me some mad feels. :(
- Then I reminded myself Sansa is a total cunt lol
- Holy shit, Casterly Rock looked nice. I don't know about y'all, but it was so great finally seeing it after all this time.
- Holy FUCK Olenna at the end. :(

ALL HAIL EURON! THE MOST MAGNIFICENT OF BASTARDS!
Thank fuck Ellaria is going to suffer for producing the Sand Snakes
THE FEELS when Bran and Sansa reunited, though Bran was fucking creepy.
I do wonder if Melisandre's threat to Varys was genuine or something to fluster him? (It worked!)
'You look better than me when you brood!'
And RIP Lady Trolleana of House Tyrell. May you enjoy smacktalking the Gods in Valhalla, long and glorious may your successor in shit talk, Lady Lyanna of House Mormont, reign

Bran: "I'm the three-eyed raven now."
Sansa: "The three-eyed raven? What's that? Can you explain it to me?
Bran: "You looked beautiful on the night you were raped."
Sansa: "I have to go now."

Triggering your rape survivor sister's PTSD is probably not the best way to explain your powers, Bran.

Who doesn't have PTSD, like seriously every main character has been through the ringer. Shit even Davos watched his son burn alive.

I still feel like Olenna is the real hero of the story. That's how satisfying it was to watch Joffrey get poisoned. Seasons later I am still smug.

We hardly knew ye.

Ser Lemmy Leatherpants makes Jon and Dany seem so stiff and dull in comparison.

It just occurred to me: I am sort of bummed we'll probably never see Euron vs. The Hound.

I know people complain about the dip in quality in the latter seasons but holy shit, those twists were so totally worth it. Sadly, we're pretty halfway through the season. Wished it could be a little longer.

D&D said they wanted to wrap things up at Season 8 and the reason for the fewer episodes was to deliver only "extraordinary" scenes without cutting any corners. From what I've seen so far, especially with the battle between the Targaryen Greyjoys and Lannister Greyjoys and the siege on Casterly Rock/Highgarden, they are delivering despite the relatively uneventful first episode. But I heard a rumor that the reason for fewer episodes was due to the mass pirating of the show and unable to get a big enough return to secure more funding for a steady budget. Again, it's just a rumor, one that I'm partial to believe but to be honest there's going to be 8 seasons of GoT. Breaking Bad had 5 seasons and told a good story, so really I wouldn't want GoT to be plagued by useless filler or being dragged on for too long. And at this point, especially after Season 6, shit's supposed to get real and head towards a finale, so it's kind of to be expected to be fast paced.

True, I think it's time to get to the point but an alternate reason I heard that sounds the most plausible was that they wanted the most appropriate weather. They no longer have a use for warm seasons.
