The recent influx of illegal refugees flooding across the border into Quebec is proving to be an immigration wakeup call for Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau appeared to backtrack Fridayon his passive stance on illegal immigration, cautioning the so-called “asylum-seekers” that they should respect the border between Canada and the U.S.

So many Haitians have crossed illegally in the last month that the city opened the rarely used Olympic Stadium as a “welcome center.”

In January, following President Donald Trump’s first executive order to restrict entry to the U.S. from some Middle East countries, Trudeau tweeted out a message, “to those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canada will welcome you regardless of your faith.'”

Soon after, a flood of illegal refugees began appearing at remote crossings from Quebec to British Columbia.

Then, in February, Mayor Denis Coderre emphatically declared Montreal a sanctuary city.

Despite Coderre’s enthusiasm, Trudeau appears to have changed his tune.

“We want migration to Canada to be done in an orderly fashion; there’s border checkpoints and border controls that we need to make sure are respected,” the Prime minister said, wearing a “Sinclair” kilt from his mother’s side of the family as he talked to reporters during a photo op at the Glengarry Highland Games in Ontario.

“The people coming now irregularly will still have to go through all the proper processes.”

Trudeau said Canadian Immigration Minister Ahmed Hussen would be checking into the border crossing at Lacolle, Quebec — along the New York border — to see if the immigration authorities needed any more assistance.

“We are ensuring that the capacity to deal with these refugees is in place and our immigration system remains strong and robust.”

Many of the Haitians entering Canada illegally from the U.S. are saying that they fear deportation due now the White House is considering changing the temporary protected refugee status of Haitians who came to America following the 2010 earthquake.

According to a CBC News report, many of these illegals are coming to Canada as a result of a “fake news” story featured on WhatsApp that encouraged all Haitian refugees who feared deportation to come North.

They're really doubling down on this. They actually want the 'My job is being unemployed/on welfare' class of refugee that we're trying to get rid of.

I don't see how taking in a ton of unskilled, unwilling to work, non-taxpaying freeloaders into your welfare-overloaded scountry could possibly backfire.

If they ever get Kebabs instead of just freeloaders in these immigrant waves, they'll be Europe 2.0 within a few months.

The problem with going on welfare is that it never goes up when the minimum wage does... which is why all these "refugees" will no doubt be placed in low income areas where gangsters, meth heads and other kinds of reprehensible scum of society live in.

Best of all, most of them won't even be able to vote for the next ten years because of how long it takes to process citizenships

And suddenly Canada gets introduced to reality.

Being welcoming to Immigrants when your country has free healthcare and ridiculously generous welfare handouts is juat begging for the world's worst to swarm you.

They're getting the Haitian squatters from New York, the Somolians from Minnesota, and various Kebabs from Michigan in droves now.

Most of these fucks won't get jobs, let alone pay taxes, and will fart out kids faster than rabbits in spring. So have fun supporting that, Canucks.

No, Trudeau is being introduced to reality. Liberals have no hope in hell of winning the next election since there's no Harper for the population to vote against.

Haitians aren't multicultural enough for Cuckdeau. They are already Francophone Catholics, so they won't add any religious or linguistic diversity to Quebec. Now Syrians and Somalis... now that's much more progressive!

Quebec literally has language police to enforce people to use French. So no, the province does not want "linguistic diversity" there. You're lucky to not get lynched if you're Anglo Saxon there.

It's a camp where all the refugees will be gathered together into one central location. Is there a word for that?

Concentrated, perhaps?

But in all seriousness, this problem is only gonna get worse as the US turns into more of a shitshow. Let's watch Canadian cities turn into complete dives once the illegals--I mean, irregulars, settle in huge violent, tribalistic droves.

Majority of the cities are dives. Just look at the state Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba are. Then of course you have the Territories and Maritime Provinces. Really, the only places doing okay is BC, Ontario and Quebec. That is when BC isn't up in flames and Quebec isn't being flooded or snowed in.

It's hard to fathom that someone working at such a high level of professional administration wouldn't understand that you don't get to be the good guy all the time. Shit-shows like this are the inevitable outcome if you even attempt it.

I think it's them trying to virtue signal to the brain dead Libtard population of Canada- which consist of mostly people who don't understand that good leaders can't always be the good guy 100% of the time; especially when it comes to making decisions that are meant for the greater good

Someone has to be the grown-up though. You'd hope it would be the person in charge.

Canada sees 'unsustainable' spike in asylum seekers at U.S. border

TORONTO/MONTREAL (Reuters) - The number of asylum seekers who illegally crossed the U.S. border into Canada more than tripled last month, according to Canadian government data released on Thursday, as migrants worried about the U.S. administration's immigration crackdown head north.

More than 3,100 people walked across the border illegally in July to file refugee claims and were arrested, up from 884 in June, the federal government said.

Ninety-six percent of them went to Quebec, where an influx of asylum seekers, primarily Haitians, is sparking a backlash from opposition politicians and anti-immigrant groups in the primarily French-speaking province.

In the first 15 days of August, an additional 3,800 asylum seekers were arrested crossing the U.S. border into Quebec, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said.

More than 1,000 people are living in tents and government facilities at a Lacolle, Quebec border crossing across from upstate New York.

"It's not a crisis. It's a situation that is extraordinary. But it's well-managed," Transport Minister Marc Garneau told reporters in Lacolle on Thursday.

Canada is struggling to house and provide social assistance for the influx of asylum seekers as its refugee system faces the worst delays in years.

The Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), which is responsible for hearing all asylum claims, has redeployed resources to deal with the Quebec arrivals.

"The IRB had to make adjustments to be in a position to respond to the current situation that is clearly unsustainable," spokeswoman Anna Pape said in an email.

Canada has launched a campaign to counter misinformation about the country's refugee policy, which is believed to be one reason for the influx of refugees.

"Asking for asylum in Canada is not a guarantee for permanent residence in Canada, and it's extremely important we stress that," immigration ministry spokesman Louis Dumas told reporters.

Many of the most recent asylum seekers arriving in Quebec have been Haitians who face looming deportation from the United States when their temporary protected status expires in January 2018.

But Canada ended its own ban on deportations to Haiti last summer. In the first quarter of this year, almost two-thirds of Haitian refugee claims were rejected, according to government figures.

The spike in asylum seekers has sparked protests by anti-migrant groups who say Canada is being soft on law-breakers.

The Montreal suburb of Boucherville has received dozens of messages on social media denouncing the asylum seekers, some of whom are being housed at a former seniors’ home in the quiet suburb, according to local media reports. Montreal, Quebec's biggest city, opened its Olympic Stadium to house the arrivals.

Sylvain Brouillette, a spokesman for right-wing extremist group La Meute which is organizing a Quebec City protest on Sunday, said his group is protesting the "policies of the Trudeau government toward illegal immigration."

As much as I can say "good" for us seeing our toilet flushed into Canada, I can't help but feel soory. With what's happening in Quebec, I wonder if they will try to secede again.

Also, maybe turn Newfoundland and Labrador into a new country as giant resettlement camp? I'm sure the millions of new hard-working and highly-skilled immigrants will survive just fine against winter and wolves.

This has been one disaster after another for Trudeau. He, Couillard, and Coderre thought they could pull a sanctuary city gambit off and have found themselves on the wrong end of Canadian public opinion.

Surely, a large metropolitan city like Montreal would have no problem with legions of illegal immigrants showing up at the door right?

Well, according to an informal CTV poll, 78% of Montrealers disagree, saying that all asylum seekers should be deported.

But maybe Quebec in general could find it in it's heart to open their arms?

A majority (62%) of Canadians ‘disagree’ (28% strongly/33% somewhat) that ‘the current situation with the refugees is just temporary and the Trudeau government has a solid plan to fix it’. Conversely, just four in ten (38%) ‘agree’ (6% strongly/33% somewhat) that the situation is temporary and the government has a plan. Those in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (81%) are most likely to disagree, followed by people in Alberta (76%), BC (60%), Ontario (58%), Quebec (58%) and Atlantic Canada (58%).

Toronto, Ontario, August 15, 2017 — A majority of Canadians appear to lack confidence in the way the federal government has been handling the migrant situation in Quebec and believe that Trudeau does not have a solid plan to fix the issue, according to a new Ipsos poll conducted on behalf of Global News. Furthermore, most Canadians are not convinced that these migrants are legitimate refugees seeking asylum.

There has been a recent surge of asylum seekers crossing into Quebec from the United States. Given the time it takes to process a refugee claim and the number of people seeking asylum, the Government of Canada has called in the army to set up a temporary camp site near the Quebec-U.S. border to house the asylum seekers until they have been processed. However, this situation has not instilled confidence in Canadians that the situation is under control.

When asked whether they believe the people crossing the border illegally into Quebec from the U.S. are legitimate refugees trying to seek asylum in Canada or migrants skipping the legal process for immigrating into Canada by falsely claiming they are asylum seekers, two thirds (67%) of Canadians believe they are simply migrants trying to skip the legal process for immigrating to Canada, while just one in three (33%) believe they are legitimate refugees trying to seek asylum. Quebecers (76%) are the most likely to believe that people crossing over in this manner are migrants trying to skip the legal process, followed by those living in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (71%), Alberta (69%), British Columbia (65%), Ontario (62%) and Atlantic Canada (57%)
Many Canadians believe the situation is getting out of control, and that calling in the military to help house the asylum seekers is a bad sign. A majority (56%) ‘agrees’ (24% strongly/32% somewhat) that ‘having the army build shelters to house asylum seekers shows this issue is out of control and being poorly managed by the Trudeau government’. Four in ten (44%) ‘disagree’ (13% strongly/31% somewhat) that the use of the army in this way indicates that the situation is out of control. Albertans (71%), Quebecers (60%) and residents of Saskatchewan and Manitoba (60%) agree most, followed by those in Atlantic Canada (55%), Ontario (54%) and British Columbia (41%).
Moreover, only a minority (44%) ‘agrees’ (10% strongly/34% somewhat) that the ‘Trudeau government is doing enough to protect the Canadian border from those who want to cause harm to Canada’, while a majority (56%) ‘disagrees’ (27% strongly/29% somewhat) that the government is doing enough to protect the border. While half (50%) of Ontarians agree that the government is doing enough, fewer in British Columbia (46%), Atlantic Canada (46%), Saskatchewan and Manitoba (41%), Quebec (39%) and Alberta (34%) agree.
Six in ten (58%) ‘disagree’ (23% strongly/35% somewhat) that ‘the Trudeau government is doing enough to find a permanent solution to the issue of asylum seekers coming into Canada from the United States’, while four in ten (42%) ‘agree’ (8% strongly/34% somewhat) that enough is being done to find a solution. Once again, those in Saskatchewan and Manitoba (71%) and Alberta (70%) are most likely to disagree, followed by those in BC (58%), Atlantic Canada (57%), Quebec (56%) and Ontario (55%).
While 44% do ‘agree’ (11% strongly/32% somewhat) that ‘people who are criticizing how the Trudeau government is managing the asylum seeker issue are exaggerating the problems because they really just hate immigrants’, a majority (56%) of Canadians ‘disagree’ (24%strongly/33% somewhat) that the criticism is misdirected.

TL;DR: Trudeau better get these migrants out of Canada now now now or there'll be serious trouble.

Refugee claimants found in possession of child porn at Quebec border

Multiple refugee claimants have been found in possession of child pornography at or near the Quebec border crossing where an influx of hundreds of asylum seekers crossing from New York state has led the Canadian government to set up a border camp, Global News has learned.

In a memorandum to officers of the Canadian Border Services Agency this week, acting CBSA assistant director Daniel St-Arnaud outlines a set of guidelines for officers at and near the St-Bernard-de-Lacolle crossing to deal with the illicit material. The guidelines will “come into effect immediately” and remain until national guidelines are put in place.

According to a source, officials in St-Bernard-de-Lacolle have in recent months found “four or five” refugee claimants from Haiti in possession of child pornography, which prompted the memorandum.

A spokesperson for Minister of Public Safety and Emergency Ralph Goodale confirmed two cases have resulted in criminal proceedings. “We can confirm that, following an investigation, two people have been charged by the Quebec Direction des Poursuites Criminelles et Pénales with possession and importation of child pornography,” said Dan Brien. “The matter remains under adjudication.”

Brien said the CBSA maintains “rigorous security measures,” and said of the charges, “This is an indication of the security system that is in place and that it is working well.”

Last week, the Canadian government deployed soldiers to set up tents near St-Bernard-de-Lacolle, which sits across the border from Champlain, New York, in order to temporarily house hundreds of asylum seekers, most of which are Haitians who fear deportation by the United States government. The city of Montreal, which is 60 kilometres from the border point, last week said it is receiving between 250 and 300 asylum claimants who crossed the Canada-U.S. border every day — the number is up from 50 per day in the first half of July.

The CBSA document advises officers at legal border crossings that “if child pornography or any other prohibited material is found” to notify the CBSA’s Intelligence Division, which will contact either the CBSA Criminal Investigation unit or Quebec’s provincial police force, the Sûreté du Québec, “to assess whether there are sufficient grounds to initiate an investigation.”

An investigation by the CBSA or SQ could determine there are grounds to lay criminal charges, which would also result in a refugee claimant’s file to be put on hold for the duration of criminal proceedings.

Earlier this year, in February, New York police arrested Benz K. Benoit, a 36-year old Haitian national, after the CBSA held him in custody on suspicions he was in possession of child pornography. After being returned to U.S. authorities, he was charged with one count of promoting an obscene sexual performance by a child and one count of possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child.

In cases where child pornography is found in the possession of claimants who cross illegally between border points, the CBSA document says the Royal Canadian Mounted Police has jurisdiction to investigate, or to transfer the case to the SQ, both of which could also lead to criminal charges and the claimant’s asylum file being put on hold during criminal proceedings.

However, according to the document, in cases where the RCMP seizes child pornography from an asylum keeper but decides not to lay charges “the CBSA must accept that decision” and process their claim.

“The fact that this document leaves some ambiguity as to what happens to an asylum claim if the RCMP seizes child pornography but doesn’t press forward with an investigation is something I think a lot of Canadians would take issue with,” said Conservative immigration critic Michelle Rempel, in an interview with Global News.

Rempel said the border arrests comprised one part of broader concerns that the opposition has about the government’s management of Canada’s refugee system. Earlier this month, Global News reported on a CBSA document which suggested that Somalis with criminal records, who fear being deported by the US, have been crossing illegally into Canada near the Emerson, Manitoba border.

“This is a troubling pattern where we’re seeing people with criminal records or involved in criminal activity come across the border,” added Rempel. “I think that Justin Trudeau has been irresponsible in his language around how Canada’s asylum system should be accessed. I think he needs to be much more clear that you shouldn’t be entering Canada illegally and he should be more clear about the expectations that our system has in terms of legitimate claims so that our asylum system can be focused on helping the world’s most vulnerable.”

These are just the neurodivergent ones that thought they wouldn't get caught.
