All Female Lord of the Flies Salt

Or thinking that Frankenstein's monster is the villain or that Romeo and Juliet is a perfect love story.

Honestly I'm kind of curious about this. I mean I'm not expecting it to light the world on fire or anything, but a story like this explored from the perspective of a group of girls rather than boys would be intere...

Oh bollocks that would required admitting girls and boys are different biologically and have differing group dynamics throughout their lives.

If the first physical confrontation doesn't start with scratching and hair pulling I'm calling bullshit. Girls fight dirty. There also needs to be a ton of passive aggressive behavior, nasty rumors, and backstabbing. This is why it's a shame the movie is being written by a man. Even if he understands the way women fight he'll be crucified for portraying it.

So...one of the complaints is that it's a female led film written by two men...

They do remember that a man was both the director and one of the writers for the Ghostbusters reboot, right? The one that was supposedly going to break ground for women...somehow. Though I suppose having the second writer being a woman balances it out in their mind.

...

Nah, it's just moving the goal posts.

That was unexpected: I thought the purists that didn't want another "female [X]" to be made would be featured, but it's just people mad that the writers are male? Ok...

Also:

TL;DW: In one season of the Dutch version of "Survivor," the men and women were split and given their own islands. At the end of 8 days, the men had a "Cafe on the beach," while the women were stealing from each other and had not yet built a hut; the women approved of a tribe merger.

As soon as i saw this last night i knew there was going to be a thread on it and i was wondering if somebody would beat me to posting that. I'll leave this here instead :

I actually watched this show in its entirety and i can say this abridged version is an accurate representation, although it only covered the first couple episodes.

This person has never seen how middle school aged girls treat each other, I guess.

Unless it's guys who grew up in a house full of four or five older sisters, they're going to sugar coat it. And if they tell the truth they'll get called a liar. Women are capable of some top tier sadism and younger girls are even worse because they have less sense of fair play taught into them.

More importantly though, this production is honestly a low risk gamble. The social justice type doesn't spend money on things that don't directly benefit themselves. Ghostbusters 2016 proved that. You can make a movie about four empowered sci fi women directed by a female friendly director that has an aggressive ad campaign and which virally shames everyone for not supporting them, and the result is a dismal failure no one cares about.
The tumblr crowd, feminists, troons... they don't spend money on things directly marketed to them, because they're selfish awful monsters who don't want to like things, they only want to be told what they hate this week. So who cares if they boycott your movie? You lose nothing by pissing off tumblrites who don't buy movie tickets Their dollar value as an audience is nothing, so pissing them off can only accidentally be a free advertisement to their enemies.

Proof pseudo-intellectual feminists have spent so long in their own ivory towers, they have forgotten what real women are like. For every blogger with an ironic Modcloth wardrobe, there are at least a dozen basic bitches like the chicken neck from the 8-ball jacket subway fight.
Bitches like this would would rip your hair out just because they don't like the ironic cat sweater you wore a year ago.

I don't get who is supposed to be mad, I thought it was the goal of SJWs to remake every piece of media with gender-swapped characters (only when male to female, other way around is problematic)?

No but women are never violent or wrong. Or bad. You can't show them as bad people, only perfect golden heroes.

Women are capable of some top tier sadism and younger girls are even worse because they have less sense of fair play taught into them.

I agree. This idea that women aren't sociopaths or capable of evil violence needs to stop. It's positive sexism that stops society from believing women can hurt or abuse their children and partners and it's a shitty double standard.

Also, if they're going to insist that women aren't violent, then I'm gonna have to insist they stop pushing the 'waifish warrior woman beats up men double her size' bad ass trope because hey, women aren't violent didn't you know?

Female on female molestation/rape is like black on black crime. It's a huge problem that gets continuously glossed over by the very people being affected most by it.

As for the waif-warrior trend, I don't get that at all. There's such an obsessive push for strong female characters (there are already tons, they get ignored), but so many modern stories end up doing that by giving an otherwise male character long hair and a pair of tits and then throwing something in about a miscarriage or a rape like that's what defines a woman. Either give a real girl a win or say flat out she needs a guy to rescue her, but don't just have her whip out the biggest gun in act three and act like you're a progressive.

Honestly, making this as a feature film just strikes me as redundant. All they need to do is to put up a few hidden cameras in a high school. They'd have enough footage for an eight season television show in less than forty hours. The only ones who surpass males in viciousness and cruelty to women are other women.
