Magic School Bus Revival - *sigh* on Netflix

So they bring back the old Ms. Frizzle voice actress to introduce this new chick because........? What's wrong with the original? Did they just have to make her some 20 something with flowing hair? Do they really think 6 year olds won't be interested unless the teacher has some weird sex appeal?
In theory, to appeal the parents (dads) that are hopefully watching along with their kids and not just slapping on random shit to shut them up for a while. The reality is it's for all the 90's kids that'll make up the main audience and not kids.

So why the new Ms. Frizzle? Why is the old Ms. Frizzle a sexpot now? (Hell both are!) Why is she even stepping aside?

Are these the same kids? Is this meant to be 20 years later too?

Nice delivery on 'I am on a roll' by the way Kate. Real stellar...

0/10 can't put this on then bang a girl in front of it.

I'm so sick of this retro revival trend. I like my heavy, extremely dated 90s music to stay in the 90s and my hipster bullshit indie music to stay in the current year. Same goes with cartoons, movies, and vidya. I'm sorry you're so void of ideas that you have to prey on nostalgia, Netflix, but nostalgia won't keep you around forever. This reboot is just as soulless as the rest. Is nothing sacred?

I'll be glad when the millennial shut-ins who keep you afloat get bored of you.

(Also yeah it's just a cartoon, I know)

Millennials need to create their own stuff. I guess I sound old by saying "stop taking ours and get your own". But I'm too old to care about how old I sound these days.:|

Stop reboots. Just stop.
Netflix, because something is watched a bit more often you expected you don't have to invest in new episodes every time. Not everything has to be "updated". People can enjoy things older than them.
In my country Magic School Bus premiered in TV 10 years after US and was a massive hit. Like countless other shows that premiered here 30/20/10 years after the orginal air date, because communism, Iron Wall and that stuff.

At least they didn't make the characters even more politically correct, like changing somebody to a cripple, troon, and/or Muslim in a burka.
They get rid of Phoebe and repalced her with brown-skinned girl in pink/orange clothes. Or she is the only one redesigned and racebend.
I hope the first, she changed school often if i remember correctly so this makes sense. She avoided being in this stiff souless reboot.

When was the Magic Schoolbus show? I'm wondering because I remember the books from elementary school, but not the tv show. So I'm trying to figure out if it came out when I was too old, or if it was just on a channel I didn't get as a child.

It was 1994-1997 on PBS.

I've already said my peace elsewhere on the bland artstyle and worse animation. Unless the writing kicks serious ass out of the starting gate (which I know it won't), chalk this up as another bad reboot of something people actually liked, another failure for Netflix, and one more reason we need to stop with trying to go back to the 90's for everything.
