Disaster Updates on the Las Vegas Shooting - this is not the shitposting thread you are looking for

Thankfully, we have a great thread for all of your retarded arguments about gun control or whatever is going on in there at the moment, but for the rest of us there is a ton of shit coming out so we'll keep track of it here. If you want to argue like a retard, once again, the containment thread is perfect for that. So fuck off with that shit in here. Same with speculations. Keep this thread mostly for hard facts and discussion of said facts.

Basic Bitches Facts

  • 59 people were killed (including the gunman), and according to police sources, at least 527 were injured.
  • The shooter is Stephen Paddock, 64, from the area.
  • The FBI said he was believed to have acted alone.
  • He opened fired on the Route 91 Harvest Country Music festival in Las Vegas
  • About 22,000 people were attending the festival at the time
  • His sniper nest was in a corner room he rented on the 32nd floor of the Mandalay Bay hotel & Casino
  • 23 guns were found in his hotel room, with another 24 at his various, alongside explosives and thousands of rounds.

Facts about the victims
  • Multiple portraits of the victims have been published so far, if you want to get really depressed.
  • Three of them have yet to be identified
  • It's also important to remember: a lot of the victims are in critical condition and the death toll may keep rising, unfortunately.

The Updates:

This is where it gets interesting:

What Stephen Paddock did was highly professional. According to the last press conference by Undersheriff McMahill, two cameras were set up in the hallway in order to see SWAT team approaching, as well as one through the hotel room's peephole. Additionally, Stephen Paddock set up a camera inside of the room filming himself and possibly streaming it.

The Las Vegas gunman responsible for shooting over 550 people reportedly filmed himself during the rampage, according to multiple reports.

The latest revelation into shooter Stephen Paddock on Tuesday is that he had cameras set up in the hallway to know when police were closing in on his position but also reportedly had a device recording him in his hotel room as he fired upon thousands of concertgoers.

“Las Vegas madman Stephen Paddock set up a camera inside his hotel room to capture his deadly shooting rampage — and other surveillance in the hallway to alert him as cops closed in on him,” the New York Post reported.

Clark County Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said Tuesday that the FBI is reviewing all the footage recovered from the crime scene.

In the weeks prior to the shooting, Stephen Paddock wired $100,000 to the Philippines, Australia and possibly the Middle-East. He also recently visited Dubai according to certain reports, as did Marilou Danley.

First called a person of interest, then unrelated to the shooting, now she is back on the FBI's shitlist and still in the Philippines. There are reports she might be on her way back to answer questions but there is no certainty either way right now.

Leaked pictures have shown he left a note behind, but we still do not know what was written on it

And in case you didn't think he was already enough of a monster, turns out he used to work for the IRS

The Charlotte Observer reports:

The Las Vegas gunman who killed nearly 60 people at a country music festival worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service, an IRS agent and in an auditing department over a 10-year period.

A spokeswoman for the Office of Personnel Management told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Stephen Paddock's employment included about two years as a mail carrier from 1976 to 1978.

After that, he worked as an agent for the Internal Revenue Service for six years until 1984. And then he worked a defense auditing job for about 18 months.

Paddock also previously worked as a defense contractor sometime during the late 80s, and graduated college from Cal State Northridge in 1977.

The next Hitler is probably a DMV employee

His family is proving to be interesting. His father was a bank robber who was once on the FBIs 10 most wanted. His brother has a lengthy rap sheet as well:

-- Criminal threats

-- Arson

-- Vandalism

-- Petty theft

-- Burglary

-- Weed

-- Driving on a suspended license

-- Contempt

If you want to search through it, KFI's John and Ken did commentary on the brother's word-salad interview on the family history.

Things that stood out to me:

-Shady financial dealings going on with Paddock and maybe the brother? (No one becomes a millionaire gambling despite what the brother thinks.)

-Paddock paid to allow the mother and brother to retire. He is still a saint in their eyes because of this.

-The brother admitted they "were bad kids".

-Brother insists multiple times "you can't call my brother weird for gambling large amounts!" As if THAT'S what people are upset about.

-He insists $100,000 was not a large or unusual amount to wire.

-"No one is dealing with it more than I am!" The brother is also a fetid douchebag.

Holy shit.

This whole thing is now conspiracy theory bait. Hopefully we get closure on this that doesn't sound like a cover up or the Alex Jones types are going to go full exceptional individual.

They're going to do that anyway. They do that when someone confesses, and everyone there is all nodding and confirming, "Yeah, it was definitely the guy who confessed." The average Alex Jones listener thinks, "Isn't it suspicious how they all agree without exception? When does that ever really happen in real life? These must be paid actors. Soros."
