It's not complete bullshit though. And by that I mean Beppi the clown can fuck you over if you get a bad roller coaster in his third phase. It's not that frequent but sometimes you're forced into situations where you have to take a hit. But this is an almost insignificant portion of the game and so far in my playthrough there hasn't been a time where I've gotten hit and my reaction wasn't "Why did I do that?" Or "I'm bad."
It took me a long time to realize but you can actually see the entire roller coaster coming from the background, it has a loud siren noise and can be parried on the front, it never "forces" you into taking a hit unless you lock yourself on the left side of the screen. Every attack in cuphead is ridiculously telegraphed, it can be a bitch to dodge (to the point you have to actually bait a few attacks to go early so you'rre actually capable of dodging the next one) but it's always possible. For comparison, i tried to play Contra Hard Corps these days and couldn't get past the second level because an enemy would spam a super fast long laser attack and i only have 2 lifes.

If Alex wanted to talk about real bullshit then he should mention the fights where the pretty paralax backgrounds will actually obstruct your vision by covering your character and enemy projectiles, this is especially awful in the skeleton boss with background trees randomly blocking half your screen, it goes against every other boss fight.

Those statements contradict each other Alex, just admit you're scrub. :story:

Also, there are no "Inconvenient platform spawns", wtf does this mean? The only fight where platforms actually spawn is the Green Dragon fight and the bee fight and there is always +5 platforms to stand on, it's not "incovenient" it's half the boss fight challenge. I have to admit, Cuphead bosses are almost impossible to understand the first time so it takes a few deaths to learn but saying "the rng make the game luck based" is bullshit.

We''ll never let you forget it.

I love that video. He says literally nothing at first and then after he died you just hear him beating the living shit out of his table. First time I watched it I didn't think he'd go from 0 to FUCK YOU TABLE that quickly...

Of course not. Because instead he's going to spoil everything about the game talking about it on Reddit, so the repetition will instead come from you having to follow a process ten weeks in a row every week for all the endings, which he's already given you all the steps for, OR you will beat the game in an hour or two by stabbing the rival the moment she's alone for two seconds. You don't need Info-Chan basically at all unless you want the headset or contraband, because his videos pretty much walk you through everything.
I've been struggling to accurately put my thoughts down on Eva's process of spoiling everything in his game, but this comes pretty close. Eventually the game just turns into a more complicated and repetitive Simon Says.

After he beats the shit out of his keyboard. I hear him pressing keys and I see Cuphead not doing anything. Did he break his keyboard?

It was the keyboard.

Even worse then, at least his table had a slightly better chance at handling that tardrage.

Good thing he has that patreon bucks to buy a new one. After all his keyboard is very important to his development and he should be able to break as many as them as he wants and use game funds on buying new ones...

edit: Alex was asked what he thought of Cuphead

He plays like he's never played a platform game before.

I'm surprised in his 'review' of Cuphead, he didn't mention or compare it to his exciting, completely challenging side-scrolling game in Yandere Simulator - Yanvania: Senpai of the Night. I guess that's the baby-ass difficulty level Alex needs to play on without tardraging.

If he's going for a no damage run then why the hell did he use the extra heart powerup? It even lowers your damage so it's a huge detriment along side being of no benefit. How foolish can you be?
