Oh boy. I want to believe that they are just joking and making fun of this video, but..
Who is Hideo Kajima?

So the TinyBuild guy is not a top-tier programmer, because he cannot implement complex evidence rules and the associated AI. He can do some average-tier stuff, like implement saving, migrate engines, slightly optimize framerate etc.

Since as we saw Alex cannot do the average-tier stuff, what does it make him?

It makes sense then how TinyBuild flocked toward a popular, yet shitty, game so blindly.

Anyway, Alex appears quite productive in this video, but lemme analyse the new features a bit:
– missing posters? This one is a pretty good one. It required some work. I wonder how buggy it is, let's wait for Jay with that.
– functional nurse? I wonder if he just copy-pasted PE teacher's AI. Again, let's wait for Jay.
– late students running to class? A really tiny thing. Just few lines of code.
– different reactions to compliments? Most likely just a bunch of if statements, to add to the spaghetti.
– principal reacting to weird stuff? Even more if statements.
– low reputation game over? Another if statement.
– fixed grammar in end-of-day reports? Another if statement.
– accessories not obstructing the phone? My bet is that he makes the accessory invisible when entering the camera mode and back visible when leaving it. I mean, good, but nothing to brag about.
– different skin color for the PE teacher? A tiny asset change.
– sakura petals? Another tiny asset change. Also, there's too many fucking sakura trees in that school.
– sound effects when picking weapons? Yet another pointless tiny asset change. Also, the effects are too loud. Maybe he'll notice it on his own and turns them down a bit.

So mostly a bunch of tiny things. The only exception is the posters.
So MemeDev thinks that taking two steps backwards then two steps forwards is progress?
If you add features to a pre-existing working "thing," that creates bugs, now breaking the previous "thing," then having to work to fix those bugs, so the "thing" actually works, ONLY THEN do you have a "thing" that has more than what it once had....

Adding a feature then fixing the bugs so that the feature works is actual progression. Not just adding it, or just fixing it.

Oh, what happened to that organic gameplay you wanted to implement YamDev? :\

Edit: Didn't want to make another post.

Alex 2 months ago: I don't like the idea of the player being locked into a specific path. I decided i wanted the events to feel organic. I want events to occur at the natural outcome of the players action, not from scripts.
Alex today: Keeping track of every time the player does something... it would extend development time considerably. It's something i can't consider unless people give me money to pay programmers or it's a sequel.

He gave up pretty fast didn't he?

Christ, that video came out 2 months ago. He hadn't finished Osana then and he hasn't finished her now. What actual fucking substantial content has he added to Yandere Simulator since then?

I'm still struck by how he seems like a parallel universe version of Tarn Adams. Both make roughly the same amount and both make thier living via donations from fans, and both tend to put out frequent updates on game progress.

Except Tarn actually has a working game thats been constantly refined, updated and changed over 10 years, with fans who are perfectly fine with tarn delaying releases because he's shown that delays help him make a much deeper game. heck, the army arc for DF has been talked about for about 4 years and its just now starting to look like we may get it in the next version. But in that interval we've gotten a whole bunch of new features added to the game in the meantime. he makes a point in every monthly update to thank his fans for donating to him so he can keep working on the game.

and Eva has given us, what? a broken, buggy collection of memes with the one big thing he's talked about still not even clopse to working, the rivals which should theoretically be the center of the game. he treats his fans with a mixture of contempt and condescension, up to casuing some of his defenders to come to this thread and trash talk him.

I mean, at least the bugs in DF lead to funny community in jokes
