You know, all of this complaining about LGBT characters on television make wonder if they’ve ever heard of Queer as Folk or half of the Netflix originals.

These people were probably in diapers when Queer as Folk was on air, and for some reason tumblr seems to dislikes shows with a niche audience? Like I've heard them before complain about Queer as Folk only being liked by gay people, Family matters only being liked by black people...And I'm like...

Well, what do you except? They're the intended audience!

NGL though, one of the past few times I was in a gay bar there was a group of obnoxious straight, white women who decided to sing "Whatta Man" by Salt-N-Pepa and they were so sloppy drunk that they could only sing the chorus and I just watched them in shock, but I turned around and noticed a black dude behind me standing in the doorway with a drink in his hand, watching this happening, and he shook his head and walked off.

I'm lily white as fuck and I liked Family Matters. Most of my friends did, and most of them weren't black.

It was a really popular show, it was on TGIF on ABC. Will and Grace was also super popular with a wider audience.

Saw this post on my dash today, and besides it and its notes (to much to screenshot, and a lot of repeats) providing a list of bands no-one in their right mind would listen to (mostly cause anything that calls itself "queercore" is not good music, period), - seriously, I found like 5 good ones, and two of them are Judas Priest and Joan Jett, - it made me think: why the hell do tumblrites say that things that are no longer good (non-problematic? wholesome?) are "cancelled"?
Can't their brain function without treating everything in fiction-related terms? Or do they really not see any diffirence?
