How did you find out Phil in the first place?

I first heard about Phil from a TheArchfiend's video. Phil made a video on Toby Turner's ad and Archie supported Phil in that video. I remember even back then, most of the comments under Phil's video were from detractors (although they could also come from Toby's fangirls).

A guy i go to the gym with plays a lot of fighting games and told me about him, we've had some good laughs over it. I had seen his Dark Souls run years ago and turned it off, being offended at what was happening. Found the tihydp later on and it was much more enjoyable

From the Retsupurae guys (Slowbeef and Diabetus) and a video made by SA goons where they mocked him.

Someone brought phil up on Twitter when I was first talking about Jerry Peet. It then dawned on me that I'd already seen a TIHYDP on Metroid Prime, found it boring, and continued on without knowing it was him.

TIHYDP Dark Souls 2

Saw that things like TIHYDP MGS3 were added to my recommended and the rest is history.

I caught wind of him initially when going through some related videos while watching some of the "games done quick" runs. Somehow one of the TIHYDP videos was recommended, one of the souls games. I initially thought it was some dude with downs playing.

Was later reacquainted with Phil after metokur buried him in a couple of videos.

i was subscribed to him in the early days i didn't have anything much to watch and there werent many lets players. it was either people you could barely hear, kids or people white an even shitier commentary than Phill ( like DSP now)

i would watch alot of his playthroughs thinking he was playing a character (i mean nobody could be that bad)

i unsubed to him a bit before someone made a commentary on a part of his playtrhough of MGS 2 ( i was fed up with my subs being filled with DSP videos flooding in)

i never was a fan of him, he was one of those channel that i wouldn't care much about if it was there or not.

9 years ago, I was searching for gameplay footage of Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix since European PSN owners had to wait until Feb 09. I stumbled upon Phil's gameplay footage. I did have interest in his Street Fighter 4 videos, but his other gameplay videos I wasn't interested in. I was more of a casual viewer. I didn't watch the whole Project 7 and Deathface shtick.

Around late 2010, early 2011 I stumbled upon DSP cultleader. His videos were pretty informative, he did open the whole detractor business. I didn't take a lot of notice until THYDP became a thing.

It's a tired cliche but watching DSP since late 2012 to now is a trainwreck, which is hard to look away from.

Someone showed me him being utterly incompetent on Dark Souls 1 many years ago, then I forgot about him until I saw a bunch of talk online about his leg-scratching incident. Forgot about him again until this year where I was watching some Nioh fail footage.

I only vaguely remember how I found DSP.

What I think happened was that I found him when searching for SF4 footage when the game came out, then got disinterested and stuck to watching actually good LPers. What I do know is that when TIHYDP MGS2 came out, I immediately recognized who was playing the game.

I found him here on the lolcows board. Back then I only just started lurking (Came here after a search for Alex Mauer stuff) and started randomly clicking on threads that got my interest, his thread's subheading was "failed streamer etc". Which piqued my interest greatly.

The rest is now history.
