In a YandereDev game small details are more important than actual progress.
Sadly, yes. https://www.reddit.com/r/yandere_si.../is_there_still_a_partnership_with_tinybuild/ That's the live link but I've been arching periodically, and I even mentioned in one of the replies about how he'll answer dumb questions but won't discuss anything about actual development. A few people on there seem as annoyed as I do, and one reply claims that the programmer that Alex bitched about was from TinyBuild.

Hopefully they give a source soon, or I can find what they're referencing.

I can say with certainty the person from he was complaining about is the programmer from tinyBuild there is evidence all over the place proving it, there is actually even more evidence than I've posted.

1. Yandere Simulator only started using version control when this programmer came on, and YandereDev specifically mentions merge conflicts in his posts.
I didn't want to risk "merge conflicts" that occur when two programmers modify the same script and then have to resolve conflicting code.

2. The only programmer to work alongside YandereDev and improve his code is from tinyBuild.
The programmer made a small number of meaningful improvements to the game, but overall, the majority of the work he did was to go over my code and re-write it without actually improving the game's performance. For example, changing (foo == false) to (!foo). Busywork that had no actual impact on the game.

When the first Unity 5 build was released, @Zombie and I decompiled the code we were mocking the code for having such little changes and the improvements were stuff like "!foo", etc.

3. He states he didn't want the code to become foreign to him. Later on, I took another look at the code and saw significant improvements to the code done by tinyBuild. This is the only way the code could of become foreign to him.
I didn't want to risk the programmer modifying my code in ways that make it alien and foreign to me, impeding my ability to make progress on the game.

4. He doesn't like the programmer's personality. I've spoken to the programmer giving suggestions on how the code could possibly be improved. The programmer is blunt and focuses on getting the job done, and would be blunt towards YandereDev like most programmers.
I didn't want to risk being forced into a situation where I'm reliant on the assistance of someone whose personality is difficult to tolerate

5. He doesn't want the game to be rewritten. I spoke to the programmer specifically about rewriting the code and he seemed really frustrated at not being able to do so. I wouldn't be surprised he was the one who suggested leaving the project.
I'm not willing to put the game into that kind of state at this point in time, so his hands were kind of tied, and there was very little he could actually do.

Did EvaXephon actually fire tinyBuild?

Now, I'll be honest I skimmed the Patreon post. But after reading over it again he phrases it very specifically.
In 2017, I actually did work alongside another programmer for about 5 months.

Since I know the programmer is from tinyBuild I decided to go do some calculations to see if it all fits.

The partnership with tinyBuild announced March 1st 2017, adding five months on to that gives August 2017.

But you have to remember that tinyBuild's programmer had to convert the code, so the partnership truly started when the Unity 5 build was released - July 9th 2017.
Adding five months on to that gives December 2017.

We can be even more specific as YandereDev made a post on June 5th 2017.
On June 2nd, tinyBuild informed me that they have finished converting all scripts to C#!

Adding five months to June gives November 2017.

If we assume the partnership ended around November - December 2017, and take a look at his reddit post history.

The last posts I can find about tinyBuild were all two months ago - October 2017 (this post, and this one). He has since been actively ignoring all questions.

It fits perfectly, the partnership along with the only chance the game had is dead.

Can't wait to see the old excuses come back - "im the only programmer working on the project".

Honestly, I'm not surprised this is the case. He mooched off of them to make his job easier, and then fired and broke off the partnership. He's most likely being quiet about it in fear tinyBuild is watching him, or is just a petty asswipe about it and doesn't want to talk about it like the child he is.
In any case, I wonder how tinyBuild sees Alex now as a whole. They were excited about this partnership, and now there's little to no mention on either sides.

So in its current state, Alex has been ""programming"" the game on his own for about 3-4 months now because the simplest proper programming practices are too elusive and foreign for him to understand that he decided to go back to working solo. This has left the programmer tinybuild assigned to him to be practically fired from improving the code he was assigned to do.
At this very moment, the code is ported over to C# for the most part, and parts of the code are foreign to Alex himself. Alex now has to learn C# and adjust to navigating the code again while also trying to iterate the game to be presentable enough for a kickstarter AND a paywall. All while promising that working with another programmer in the future will not go so as bad as this time. And in the same breathe, asking for more money to flow his way for it all to happen. But not just that, being so scared of a hiatus of improving the actual game, that he would rather shove a game full of meme-of-the-months to seem relevant than actually try and deliver on-schedule for once to prove himself to be a competent enough developer for a kickstarter.

Man, ignorance really bites you hard in the ass doesn’t it?

Thank you for elaborating and explaining everything. The timeline does match up very well, and makes a lot of sense.

BTW I stumbled on Alex's old timeline and had a good laugh.

I started laughing and then I realized it's 2018 now, not 2017.
Then I laughed even harder.

Thanks for digging through all the spaghetti and doing the math.
So while we don't know for sure, someone had it enough with someone and Alex is back to coding solo and he doesn't like talking about his future publisher anymore.
Bad blood aside, I wonder what parts of the agreement are still in effect. Both Alex and TinyBuild are quite silent about that.

Someone should email tinyBuild and post how they respond.

If indeed it turns out that their partnership is over, I'm not surprised the developer at least hasn't said anything. People on both Youtube and Reddit were more than excited by the possibility of professional attention and aid for the game. They might lose faith in the 201991 release if they knew Tinybuild and Yanderedev had a falling out.

In case there are people who still sceptical about tinyBuild leaving Yandere Simulator.

YandereDev was asked today: "has any progress been made for the save/load feature" (archive).

His response was:
Progress was made, but then stopped. I suppose I could theoretically get it working if I spent time on it, but there are just other things I'd rather work on right now.

Two things to notice.
First, he admits progress is no longer being made on the saving and loading system. Second, he doesn't mention tinyBuild could work on it but himself.

Side note: No, he cannot get it to work. The code should be utilising XML serialization but it isn't, it's literally a wrapper on top of the PlayerPrefs, so it saves data ALREADY being saved by PlayerPrefs but technically doesn't as it isn't being called anywhere in the code. But that code is now "foreign" to him and he has no clue what it's doing so he says "theoretically" he could "get it working."
