There's an interesting quirk about that: They literally never learn.
.
It would be odd enough if their approach didnt work but the part which takes the cake is their approach actively made the situation worse.
What strikes me as odd about D&C is how he apparently has like three kids with multiple women. That and how he, Doug, and Captain Cummings have all been in the military at some point. It's not unbelievable, just a thing that sounds like there's a big story behind it.D&C comes off as weird cause he's older than your average drama guy. He's a veteran and a father. He's from a total different culture world than the 20-almost 30 childless people we usually end up talkin about here, so he ends up bein a bit off technology and he has actual flaws he's not aware of, but he's open to learn. Tl;Dr he is too normal
Comic historian just doesn't want to get into drama, and both sides give him beef for that, included D&C, which is wrong. Just leave the guy alone and slapfight between yourselves
The true and only winner in all this is Diana, D&C's daughter, who likes Teen Titans and has talent in knitting. Bless her soul
I'm not usually the grammar police, but holy shit nigga, you need to break up this run-on.
I don't think there's really any story behind them all being in the military, except it may also have been one of the reasons they all became friends. And yeah, all of D&C's kids are from different women. His son is from his first marriage, and his youngest daughter (Diana) is from his second marriage. His middle daughter is from a one night stand where things went wrong lolWhat strikes me as odd about D&C is how he apparently has like three kids with multiple women. That and how he, Doug, and Captain Cummings have all been in the military at some point. It's not unbelievable, just a thing that sounds like there's a big story behind it.
There's a reason "Dear John" letters are a meme. Military service and divorce go hand in hand. There's even a meme about the "dependapotamus": http://nextgenmilspouse.com/is-there-truth-behind-the-dependapotamus-myth/ (https://archive.fo/pl5pO) & https://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Dependapotamus (https://archive.fo/hKJgB)What strikes me as odd about D&C is how he apparently has like three kids with multiple women. I shit you not, when they announced a new Kick Ass comic. I jokingly thought to myself the new protagonist was gonna be a strong independent black woman, it was.
You don't have to be that involved in the comic book industry to notice something is wrong when you start to notice a pattern of seeing every well established character(s) being replaced with POC, actually fuck it not POC, black people.
Okay, so I decided to look at lists of every Marvel publication for the period of 2015 to 2017 to check the statistics of Dobson's claim of non-white male comics being 40% of their output. Might've missed a few but it would alter this much. Here are the rules for what I'm counting:
- Has unique title and is not a relaunch. This is fairer on series like Captain Marvel which would shoot the numbers up.
- Since Dobson is including cancelled/finished stuff, so will I
- Not an annual
- Mini-series and one-shots will be included as it shows what they're promoting.
- I'll be generous and include aliens/other beings in "white" if they pass enough
- Teams and events will be credited to whatever the leader is or who has the most focus
- If it's a duo, I'll count them twice for the appropriate demographic if different
- I'll show the Marvel Star Wars comics separate
Notice anything? Even if we accept Dobson's idea that people are complaining about a lack of white men instead of all their major characters getting shit on and replaced, he's still wrong because it's closer to 66% than 40. Not only that but you can clearly see how uneven this "diversity" is if that's your point. There are two major types of "diversity" characters in that period, #Woke black guy and the one that was growing like a damn weed....."Quirky teenage North American white girl who loves selfies and has a body weight half comprised of Starbucks".Star Wars:
Marvel:
- 22 total
- 27% (6) with white male protagonists
- 27% (6) with white female protagonists
- 9% (2) with "Latino" protagonists (Based on their actors, wouldn't make sense in-universe)
- 9% (2) with black protagonists
- 27% (6) with unknown/does not apply
- 63% not white male
- 254 total
- 45% (116) with white male protagonists
- 22% (57) with white female protagonists
- 13% (32) with black male protagonists
- 4% (11) with black female protagonists
- 2% (5) with Asian male protagonists (Mostly nu-Hulk by himself)
- 2% (5) with Asian female protagonists
- 2% (6) with Latino protagonist
- 2% (4) with Latina protagonist (lol America Chavez)
- 1% (3) with Muslim female protagonist (Just Kamala)
- 8% (21) with unknown/does not apply
I still have my list if anyone wants to look over it. Some people want to "see" these things themselves.
I saw this linked over at Autism Central Command.
Apologies if this is a repost, but this is fucking hilarious. How are they so bad at this.

It's French obviously."Freelancer."
That's a pretty strange way to spell "liar."
It's not the same guy, just someone else using the identity that we know little about as of this post.Didn't they just turn Rorschach into a black man in their DC-Watchmen crossover? It's freaking bizarre, why Rorschach of all people?
though in hindsight, it can sorta fit his character, just not in the way "diversity" way people expect...
Pass me it, please. I'm curious.I kinda did some numbers on Marvel in the Dobson thread when he was saying it was overblown and gave some iffy statistic.
Diversity & Comics:
Initially introducing himself as "Zack", later doxed and revealed to be Richard C. Meyer, a former Marine in his late 30's-early 40's, he has been the leading voice and probably the de-facto leader for the Pro-CG, to the point where he was begrudgingly named as the #85 most powerful figure in comics this past year. He is by far the most aggressive and strategic of the Pro-CG figures,
Until recently, his videos have been pretty shit from a production values standpoint, typically recording during his lunch break from the middle of NYC, so it's not uncommon to hear wind noise or truck horns, he also tends to use his cellphone camera to record his videos, with awful shakey cam at times. However, he has lately learned how to use OBS and bought a better phone with a good camera, so this pain point is mostly resolved. Though he always coughs in his videos no matter what.
His Twitter account is also unbearable, as he loves to quote-reply his opponents and retweet supporters. But what makes his presence tolerable is that he is a funny guy (at least to me).
He also has his own comic, sponsored by his Patrons, and has allowed it to be roasted by other comic YouTubers.
There has been multiple efforts to harass and deplatform him by multiple parties, including a weird-ass "stalker" (keep reading), coordinated copyright strikes, and trying to take down his Patreon as well. There was also an exceptional plan leaked where multiple comic pros colluded to attempt provoking him @ NY Comic Con in order to get him escorted out, we covered that one here.
