The Sims Modding Community - "[Sims 4] Incest, Teen Romance, Babies For Everyone and more! UPDATED FOR 1.5.149.1020!"

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.

I really liked the fact that the screaming, burning Chrischan Sim sounded like the OC. I know it wasn't on purpose, but it was still great.

Sim Mods are really popular in Korea and Japan too. Don't know of any autism in the communities, but I'm sure they would be. Lots of Nico-do and YT videos of people making mods and playing.

I remember this blog, now long since deleted, where a guy chronicled his experiences playing Sims 1 or 2, not sure which. He set out to create the laziest, most useless Sim possible and named this glorious bottomfeeder "Bruno Porno" or something equally stupid. Bruno's greatest achievement in life was when he took out the trash while pissing his pants. Bruno met a most peculiar demise. He did not like the music being played by the radio, but since he was too lazy to turn it off, he got stuck in a loop and died from exhaustion.

sounds amusing

It's not a modding scene if there's not a shitload of "Better Bouncing Boobs" mods some lunatics made.

Still funny tho

Oh shit, the Sims modding community! I used to be a huge Sims sperg, so I was looking for some mods to spruce it up. I am not sure how it is right now, but I remember there being tons, and I mean TONS of skimpy outfits. The best part? They were specifically made for teenagers. :'( The Sims community is fucking weird.

I had the mod that allowed teenage pregnancy. Also the mod which allowed you to have more than 8 family members in a house. So there'd be like 20 people in one family.

"The Sims 2 - Jewish Holocaust"
"This is a movie reflecting on one of the World's most tragic events ever to take place. Of course, I am referring to the Jewish Holocaust, which took place before and during World War II (1939-1945). "
"Music sung by Evanescence."

>one of the oldest mod communities

You Sweet baby angel

"one of" being the operative term. It's 18 years old, which as far as modding communities go is fairly old. Doom and some other games obviously have much older modding communities, but in terms of still-existing communities I can't think of that many that are 20+ years old. I guess I should add some distinction that its not only an "old" modding community, but an "old" modding community that is still fairly popular.

I'd say that a mod existing for a game or game series doesn't really mean it has a "modding community". If you really want to get autistic, then a large number of these Sims "mods" are technically "trainers" but that depends on how you classify mods/trainers/total conversions.

Although I know very well that there are a number of other modding communities that have been around for far longer, of the top of my head, I can't think of any that are quite as established or "in demand" as The Sims mods.

Its longevity and variety probably stems from the insane amounts of money that Sims mods generate via advertising and "premium subscriptions". I can't think of too many other modding communities that exist in that way (besides Second Life).

The "Mod Hall of Fame" has only existed since 1996, which is 22 years. The Sims being 18 years old makes it old.

Damn, I was legit thinking of making a thread about this community. This is gonna be good.
If you want to see the worser parts of the modding community and some drama, I also recommend taking a look at simsecret. It’s a livejournal of gossipy tards getting mad over custom content creators’ policies and creations and which game was the best. Oh, and porn. Here’s a link (EDIT: NSFW, BTW): http://simsecret.livejournal.com/

Garden of Shadows is another Sims modding forum worthy of a quick glance. There’s some good stuff in there, but it’s more of outdated and low quality custom content. They also host events for the community that involve people exchanging creations and whatnot. Link: http://www.digitalperversion.net/gardenofshadows/index.php

Also, it should be mentioned a large chunk of the modding community has a strange obsession with premature babies. It’s actually unsettling how much detail they put into it.
I'm guessing the oddly specific mods like dog allergies or mental illnesses are made so people who want to autistically recreate their real "lives" virtually can do it down to the smallest possible details
The mental illness thing is more of the SJW side wanting representation and diversity in their legacies/stories.
