Maybe it's just my optimism talking and I'm oversimplifying the issue but if some of those nice guys would put some money aside for their monthly hooker visits instead of buying unwanted gifts for people they don't even know they'd end up a lot less unbalanced eventually. Some of these need to get laid, badly.

It's deflection, all my fat guy friends over the years employed a little bit of it and being oblivious is required. Ignore your flaws and cover them with adornments. It's always hats and facial hair, like they're playing man dress-up. Even worse than a fedora/beard is the Fred Durst backwards cap and chinstrap beard.

They also tend to screw things up on dates too. I remember I posted about it a while ago, where a guy got mad at a girl who gave him a chance, because she wouldn't sleep with him.
This will sound a bit crazy, but a lot of the ones I see do hold blatantly misogynistic views. As in "females must be subservient to men" and stuff like that. Most likely because the only woman in their life they are close with is their mother, who looks after them and does everything for them. Kinda like a 50's housewife. What they got from their mother, they're expecting from a partner. They're so used to having a woman take care of them. It's not just that view of "women have to be like a housewife", but that's the biggest one i've found that they all seem to believe.
Without powerleveling, I will tell you that if you feel like you're another parent to your partner, or even if you're taking care of them to some extent, it gets old really quick. Especially if that person lacks motivation, whether it's lacking motivation generally or lacking motivation to help themselves/get their shit together. It's exhausting to deal with.
There are many reasons why "nice guys" are undateable, and that's one of the main ones.
The other one (that I haven't had personal experience with, thank god) being that if you don't take care of them and cook their tendies, they'll probably be more misogynistic (i.e. "you females are meant to do ___ and _____") and possibly abusive. Because "HOW DARE MY FEMALE DENY ME". Let's be real, we've all seen how they act when they're rejected by someone they've deemed 'theirs' because they put in those nice guy tokens and sex doesn't come out. Imagine how they'll act when someone who they probably see as their property denies them? But hey, at least when it comes to their own abusive tendencies (that they claim all the "other guys", that they're totally not like, have) the cat's out of the bag early.
