The girl looks alright. It's my understanding that Brits and Americans need two ratings scales -- one that comprises the total population, and one that excludes obese girls. She really doesn't do bad on either scale.
Yes, Leanna was hotter, had a tighter ass, etc. But looks aren't everything. Maybe (maybe!!!) Phil has realized this, or at least realized that a hot girl would always be aware of her ability to do better. Further, what kind of girls do you even expect a washed-up early YouTube Let's Player and present-day e-beggar to be able to pull?
One thing I have noticed seeing her is the sort of docile, slightly-stupid vibe a lot of DSP fans give off. Which isn't very
novel in the scheme of things. Since at least several hundred others are followers of this guy in the same way, believing him uncritically.
I expected more shenanigans from both sides. The exorcism/casting couch leads might produce something eventually, but she isn't a feral child, high school girl, or Dutch escort like a lot of people thought. As for Phil's part, it's the first few days. Of course he's going to show her off for now. He has no friends to do so with, remember? Standard behavior, and even by normal person standards not all that offensive.
Isn't the dip kinda normal when he is away for a few days?
I think the Patreon days are pretty much over because Twitch subs are a lot easier to get and keep. I still don't know how realistic it is for him to get something like 1-2000 subs though, but with the added interest of the new girlfriend its certainly possible (speculation depending on how he and her interact and whether she actually streams with him in some capacity).
He's dipped like 100 subs from his peak, right? He had a few amusing first-of-the-month dips in the first few months of his Twitch return, but nothing like this. He was at about 250 before the Thanksgiving "problem" reveal, so that should be his absolute rock bottom if things don't turn around. But that's not such an important number; you'd have to imagine Phil would invent a new crisis before he lost another 200 subs. The jury's out whether he can keep growing to 1000-2000, but I think his best bet is to try riding from crisis to crisis and hope that he can raise the floor of subs each time.
Something All-meaty Tevin said in a video came back to me... Remember when Phil tied his special events to the number of Twitch subs? He set the goal to 500 subs, and emphasized the amount of $1250 -- equal to the amount he was making on Patreon. Well, 550 subs, 600 subs, and 650+ etc. subs are most certainly not goal levels equal to $1250. In order to be consistent, shouldn't he always do his special event any month he has 500 subs, and any milestone over that is extra? Right? Otherwise, it's like you're finessing money out of people. But DSP would never!
