So question for regulars has Phail's tips fallen that low this month?

He gets about 3k a month average from youtube if he is operating on 2$ per 1k views but curse is 80% so it is more like 1.8$ he gets on average 30k views a day but this is all on past stuff not his new stuff he is lucky if that breaks 1k on the first video.

Is he still on like 490 subs because thats about 2k a month.

So prediction wise for feb he has made about 5.000$. He made about 7.000$ in January right?

So if we minus the condo in CT which is 1.5k$ per month "WHY ISN'T HE SORTING THIS OUT FFS?" plus his current mortgage lets say 1k$ because property in that area is cheaper. That is minus 2.5k already.

How this guy is not broke alludes me, he spends money as though he is famous yet when you brass tax his earnings is haemorrhaging money like hell because we know he does not really have savings he lives way beyond his means.

As for cult leader kinda but basic bitch at best Phil for some reason gains favour from some serious autists who all frankly surprise me.

Hold up, I thought PapaLou has been mentioned earlier when Phil very publicly told him that he'd have to stop being an asshole in chat and he had a temp timeout for it as well? What's up with the "never disciplined him for anything" bullshit?

He was, to be fair, drunk for most of his stream and I guess a timeout isn't 'a real punishment' or some semantic bullshit.

It'll be very interesting to see what they are by year's end. I'll bet anyone here, Phil proposes before 2019.

Getting married would be the worst thing. Like I said in a previous post, Kat's motives aren't really known yet. There's still the very real possibility she's there for his cash. Imagine they get married then she divorces and tries to get both properties in WA and CT. I have a feeling the inevitable breakup will be more of a roller coaster than the one with Leanna.

More and more Phil reminds me of a cult leader, akin to a Jim Jones, David Koresh etc, he seems to have a some kind of hold over certain individuals, who throw money at him and defend him even when what he's done is indefensible, it's really pretty sad.

I find that post insulting. How dare you compate Phil Burnell to Jim Jones!

Jim Jones did something for society by removing idiots from the gene pool.

@Phalanx: find Eddyb43's and my posts from the end of January. I track cheers and subs along with some other information about how much individuals cheer, who gifted subs, and so on. Eddyb43 also tracks cheers and subs, along with tips (at least the ones that show up on screen and/or are mentioned verbally by Phil).

For January, I had about $5300 in cheers+subs only, and as I recall, he had ~$2500 in tips. So he pulled about $7800 before taxes and fees. However, that included 85 gifted subs as people pushed for some sub goal that I don't remember. Hence why his subs are down to 486 as of last night. If things keep going the way they are, I'd project he'll end up with $3000-3500 in cheers+subs and maybe $1500 in tips. However, if he does his little sub "fundraiser" at the end of the month, it may be a bit higher. Regardless, barring some major whale dumping of money, Feb is going to be a big step down. Patreon is down to $845, even.

I may do an estimated "expenses" breakdown as well in the money thread---the short version is that even with favorable assumptions about how much DSP is spending, his fixed monthly costs (so not including food and such) are something like $7k.

The fuck is up with 'PapaLou' though, there's some serious autism clique going on about the guy because I guess he's a troll but tips so Phil wants to keep him around while all his other fans don't like him?

Actual exchange last night:

Tip: Why don't you like PapaLou

Phil: what the fuck are you talking about dood. I don't hate PapaLou I've never disciplined him for anything, okaaay.

Mod: PapaLou got banned early today...

And then Phil quietly unbanned him lol.
PapaLou gives numerous creepy cheers to DSP, and was the focus of troll tips during PUBG. But the thing to clear up here is between the GTASA & PUBG stream... some mod banned 6 accounts: papalou, jayp060299 (seems to be a fan who gives regularly) & 4 accounts I don't really recognise: bailey_xoxo, greggygg, hashirama__ & itscricri. There's no ban-duration for them so they were bans, not timeouts.

Only 6 mods were visible in the channel at that moment - Nightbot & logviewer (the 2 bots), DSP (he seems to always leave the $3K lemon logged into his chat), Anony, DeepDrive & kekon3. It's possible someone else had access via Nightbot maybe, or didn't show up as joining/leaving, so it's never clear who did a ban, and I can't see unban messages.
DSP did notice this when he returned shortly before the PUBG stream, and no one answered this:
[19:22:00] <darksydephil> why was there a mass banning?

Fun bonus while I was dealing with income today... before GTASA:
[11:36:28] <darksydephil> down to 495 subs but we will get that back up today!
After PUBG:
[22:32:26] <nightbot> Current subscriber count: 487 - Thank you for your support! dspSubhype
4+ hours later:
[03:02:20] <nightbot> Current subscriber count: 488 - Thank you for your support! dspSubhype
No shared sub notification between those, more proof that we can't see all subs via chat - if a user doesn't want to click that share button, it won't be tracked by the method I, actually & others use.

DSP's tips appear to be lower this month, but there's 2 good reasons for that: he's no longer complaining about imminent tax issues where the ~45 day delay will mean cheers & subs don't reach him (he should get all February cheers/subs/ad revenue paid to him by Twitch in mid-April) AND he changed the minimum tip to show up on screen to $5. Previously I was ignoring any audio only tips (sub$2) in gameplay as I didn't watch it, now I'm ignoring all audio only tips (sub$5) so the numbers aren't perfectly comparable.

I'd be astonished if he got $2 CPM or even $1.80 CPM after 2017's adpocalypses & now we're still in the quiet time of the year for advertising money. I have no evidence of his CPM or how many views actually count, but I doubt his claim that YouTube ad revenue money for all of 2017 was even close to the $42K+ I tracked in Twitch cheers/subs/tips... and that's with me ignoring the first 3 months when he enabled tips, missing most sub $2 tips, not all subs showing up so I can count them etc.

He's stuck around 490 subs, but that's nowhere near $2K a month. A $4.99 or Prime sub gives DSP $2.50, $9.99 he gets $6 & $24.99 he gets $17.50. His count is "concurrent subscribers" so the bonus "subpoints" you get for $9.99 (counts as 2) & $24.99 (counts as 6, 1 extra) he ignores - he did get the extra emote slot for hitting 600 subpoints but didn't feel he hit the goal with a ~564 peak in January. Worst case: 500 subs is 500x$2.50=~$1250+, maybe add another $100 for the higher tier subs (example: all of January had 8 $9.99 & 6 $24.99 subs, February so far has 3 $9.99 & 1 $24.99 sub). $2K would be 800 standard subs.

I tracked just over $7600 for January with cheers, subs & the visible tips. DSP will naturally lose some of that in taxes & PayPal fees (Twitch pays the fees for partners, unlike affiliates), down from the record $10250+ in December thanks to that fundraiser & heavy tipping, but cheers & subs income was up in January compared to December.

DSP has claimed both properties cost $1.5K/month, IIRC in the January 2017 business update he noted the $1.5K CT condo lease then in a business update the next month he claimed the WA house was about the same, so I've stuck with a $3K/month figure for the 2 properties.

Ok apparently this has only been linked once before in this thread and it wasn't really deeply investigated/discussed.

For those that don't follow Fighting Game Autism, Viscant is the scrawny white dude that had an "intimate moment" with lowtiergod and basically called his tough guy act, beat his ass in a fighting game and then made him look like a pussy:

TLDR is Phil and Viscant had an autistic slapfight at some stage. Being that DSP is the largest recorded autism magnet in history, the result of this was:
  • "talk shit on the internet" that turned into a
  • "fite me irl" that turned into a
  • "sign this nda and legal agreement before we fite irl" that turned into a
  • "fite me irl mma style i dont want to have to take a diet" that turned into a
  • "lets pretend that we had a fight and just troll everyone" that turned into a
  • "nigga if you don't want to fight lets just not fight" that turned into a
  • "i had to step into save DSP's ass after two other fighting game autists wanted to beat his ass irl in a parking garage"

And Viscant, if you ever read this, as dumb and as petty as it all sounds, you actually sound like a true & authentic adult about it all.

. . .if you assume the majority of his subs are 5, then 10 and 25 the most he's making in those is 4225.50, which comes from a near even split among the three tiers. My guess would be around 2000 or lower, which puts the mass of subs on the 5 dollar tier, with a couple dozen 10 dollar subs and a handful of 25 dollar subs. This is with a sub count of 490. If there are hard numbers (even small counts of the tier counts from current streams) it's not too hard to dial in that number further.

Uh uh... someone mentioned on his forum that maybe his internet is the cause of the laggy DBZ games? inb4 delete delete delete...

How dare he? /gtabdsp

I've played many times with friends in other countries. So I play on servers in their countries, which means forced online lag.

Even Counterstrike and other FPS games are generally quite playable even with pings as high as 200 (depending). Sure its not always great, but the connections are always consistent and the games are playable and you can do pretty well.

Even if the game is a bit laggy and you don't have all the advantages, it still manages to be a lot more fun that I've ever seen DSP have in any game.

Let’s not forget that Viscant also provided us with this juicy DSP nugget as well:

But he made a good point which I honestly also thought about but was too lazy to fact-check. If DSP streams in high resolution with 60 fps (also upload and download of game data) he should/could experience framedrops. His stream might not be affected if his internet is good enough but we speak about frames. They are tiny.
Also Kat plays overwatch which also adds some weight.

But most likely he is just a salty loser. He even complains about dropped inputs in Mario Sunshine.

The bans were done by Anony, supposedly.

Not that it really matters, PapaLou probably actually deserves a ban and his mods tend to not do shit (which is good for him) eveb when Phil complains they need to do more.

So I see a lot of strategists playing out possible outcomes with Phil & Kat in the near future. The big thing that's being over looked is that she is a rebound relationship to lash out at Leanna. These relationships don't tend to have a long half-life, and moving a person in to your home won't stem that life span. The best I can give them is around a year before it deteriorates, maybe less because they're going to be around each other constantly.

When the entire purpose of being with someone is to spite another, you're not going to be with that person for long.

I think spite, not only for Leanna but for detractors, is only 60% of it. The other 40% is him realizing he's pretty much only got one more chance to make a long term relationship like this happen in his life.
