I love how his recent tweet (that plugs his AtK topic on his tumbleweed forums) starts with this. Trying to show some humbleness.
I'm fairly sure he's going to answer the question that's about him writing a book. I wouldn't rule that out from happening.

I watched the Tevin video and he made a few good points. I especially liked the end where someone cheered and said he used his old license for a while ... WRONG... DSP says you can indeed use it for 30days, which was the cheerer's point... but he was such an asshole. Disgusting.

Has anyone noticed how Phil's douchebag levels have increased inmensively? Not only in what he says but HOW he says it.

He allways seemed a child throwing a temper tantrum when he got angry, now he never gets angry but he has become way more insufferable than before it reminds me when a problem child reaches puberty and becomes an obnoxious brat who allways thinks he's right.

It's a mix of the money he's making right now, knowing that he has the perfect excuse to guilt trip his fans for money, and the false belief that there is absolutely nothing that will result in him being kicked off of twitch or severely limit what he's making right now . Phil is more similar to what he was on youtube during the height of his career

@SoapQueen1 --for clarity, I got the tax amount using a simple online calculator and an income of $100k, so it accounted for the tax that could be deducted (the portion that would normally be paid by an employer) but not much else. Could you provide a little more detail on how you get from the $100k to $68k of taxable income?

@Pablo Birmingham -- that's how my mortgage is, but I didn't want to assume the same for all mortgages since I don't know for sure.

I may go and edit the post to revise the totals downward to reflect a more accurate picture.

Absolutely co-signing this, he's gotten more loose on the "morals" that he has been preaching even more so than usual, likely telling himself that he's "just being honest."

He can hardly go 15 minutes without contradicting himself anymore.

Yeah I also feel Phil is reaching 2012 levels again in terms of arrogance. Shows that all the times he said "I have changed" is bull. When the big money comes back, he goes back to his old ways.
 
I used to be able to watch him but I can barely anymore. Even when he plays a game like San Andreas. I think he's getting the arrogance back combined with a poorer quality product. In 2012 he actually made jokes and stuff now he just kinda tells you what is going on screen.

:late: as fuck, but its because by Phil's childish view of maturity/success/adulthood, he's officially winning again.

Home Ownership, check.
Successful Business, check.
Girlfriend, check.

Never mind that he has two homes that are bleeding him constantly. Never mind his business is literally panhandling over the internet. Never mind that his own words show that he sees his girlfriend as a trophy more than a partner. Personal responsibility? What's that? By Phil's "I told 1% of the truth, so the other 99% doesn't matter" worldview, he's got every right to be a smug prick.

I think, based on these projections, Phil is just waiting for reality to snap back to 2009 and crown him Best and Bravest Boy of YouTube again.

He doesn’t have the wit or the intelligence to make smart comments or to talk in great lengths off topic.

He never did that but back then at least he was humble and laughed it off when he lost at a game.

No but even when he was successful on Youtube he was still entertaining to watch. He'd make terrible jokes all around and would make you laugh while basically thinking something along the lines of "Get a load of this guy".

If you want an accurate comparison look at his San Andreas playthrough back in his Youtube prime and watch his latest playthrough, it's like he dialed down on what made him funny in the earlier days while doubling down on what makes him unlikeable.

I noticed this the other day when someone posted his Blip.TV ranting - it was still obnoxious but there was zero snorting, zero 'mentally ill' monikers and despite the fact I still thought he was a twat, he was BAREABLE.

Now he's just a shell of a man screaming and ranting at ANY opinion he thinks other people are being paid for. Positive game reviews for DBZ? Fucking shills doing it for money. Negative game reviews for loot box reliant Shadow of War? Drama views for the dollar.

Honestly, the guy is so fragile that any view that's different to his, regardless of accuracy or irrelevancy is treated with utter contempt. Your brother died and you found a way to make yourself food? Fuck you. You drove with your old state license for 30 days and genuinely want to give me and my soulmate advice? Fuck you. Then he'll quantify his exceptionalism with 'people are saying' because some 12 year old mirrored his thoughts. It's the same reason he deletes any forum post with irrefutable proof he's wrong and how his twitter comebacks consist of 'you're an idiot'.

Overall this subforum isn't doing too bad, but there's obviously some issues with the quality of what people post on KF.
  • Please avoid posting low-quality/one word/reaction image posts unless its something particularly entertaining. There hasn't actually been too much happen with that sort of thing recently, but just saying it again.
  • Please report posts you find problematic (and provide a reason stating so if it isn't obvious)
  • Use the "Talk to Staff" function for larger issues on the site (I'm not able to read or participate in anything posted there)
