I was about to give a whole bunch of people autism points in here for saying dumb shit but Phil beat me to it (yes that means DSP is apparently smarter than you):

He said the attorney would charge $10K IF he hadn't sorted through, which is fucking common sense.

Seriously, which do you think an accountant would charge more to process?

Its obvious he uses his credit cards for both business and personal expenses, so if he gives all his raw statements to an accountant, they'll go through every fucking charge on the cards.

I'm not debating he should've done this earlier, or that's he is disorganized as fuck, but really this falls under common fucking sense.

You plebs would know this if you read my superior post on the matter before any of this was even discussed:
Even if you pay someone, you still have to organize the paperwork before you send it off.

Because he's getting audited (essentially by having backtaxes he is being audited) he likely has to show a much more detailed paper trail for stuff.

(Unless you're wealthy enough to just send a giant box to a qualified accountant who will charge $1-500 an hour to sift through shit for you.)

Have fun with the photoshop, guys

He's like a 5 year old who has to show you that they are hurting for Mommy and Daddy's sympathy. He did this kind of shit before with the long sleeved shirt and him saying he couldnt afford to turn his heat on at the beginning of winter. It's all whoring to make the paypigs shed a tear for his plight, shit that every other functional adult has to do once a year and for the rest of their life he has to make a big deal out of it.
Fucking eyes aren't even red, this guy cracked his neck and said "ouch", and we are supposed to believe he has a crippling back injury?

Would it have been too much for Phil to handle if he, I don't know put all the documents that he would probably need to do his taxes all in a general folder, box, etc? I mean this isn't exactly his first time doing taxes as a streamer.

That's essentially what he's doing now, but he still has to go through every single expense, pull out business related ones and write an explanation to justify why/how they're business expenses.

I'm not bothered to research it, but I'm 100.00% sure there are different tax rates for different things, there are different deductions and rates for things like fuel/gout cream.

I meant as in taking whatever documents, receipts, etc he would need for tax season and as he got them throughout the year the would put them in this designated area so that when he needed to bust them out when he had to do taxes he could access it all right then and there instead of going on a wild goose chase throughout his McMansion. But knowing Phil he probably just tosses his shit into random piles when he can be bothered. At the very least he would save himself from wasting a shit ton of time.

Logic would say otherwise. Since graduate school, I've kept a folder for all my tax returns, W-9 contractual work, and freelance stuff. It's not spatial geometry. Phil has been running this business for years, in theory, whether his CT tax preparer was handling his information or not, he should have kept a Pages or Excel doc of his expenses(Hell, some banks keep 24months of expenditures on paper or digital file) in his own possession. But, I don't know Phil is this unique flower. Phil posts on twitter how he's preparing his taxes, and we're all wrong for inquiring. Eh...

So in reality all this is telling me is that he thought he was the only adult in the United States who didn't need to worry at all about taxes.

You're forgetting that he likely buys every single thing on credit card. Which means his credit card statements are probably 100+ pages long each year.

I'm really hoping DSP ends up with a 30-day suspension sometime. Long enough to have an "Exile Saga" where he frantically goes around trying to beg elsewhere, but not long enough that he'll actually be forced to get a job.

Depends on why he got this one. If it's for something like bits, he can just not do whatever specific thing pissed them off.

If it's about shit-talking people and being an asshole, though, he's going to eat a perma at some point because he can't stop doing that.

It's also pretty likely people will be emboldened to report him, too.

I'd love to see him in the situation of having two strikes and knowing he's hanging by his fingernails, and then watch people deliberately poke him to get him to flip out so they can report him.

He could just go back to youtube streaming what with the superchats or whatever thing they have.

If he's using the same American Express card (that was used illegally by someone to make a purchase back in 2014), then suffice it to say he "should" be using their expense reporting feature for itemized purchases. He merely tags something as business or personal use, then at the end of the calendar year, AE sends a document of all the purchases made on that card under either heading. Saves a lot of time. But, credit card debt sucks.

Pretty sure he has multiple cards.

Phil is just so mind numbingly ignorant that it hurts my head to see what he writes and says on vids. Makes me grateful for this site and the countless videos that give me the cliffs notes!!
