A major flaw with DSP is his greed. He can never just accept a means of getting money, he has to exploit it somehow.

Snipping the rest of this but this is why he's a lolcow. He had every opportunity to turn his bullshit into at least a semi-stable course of income, and has instead chosen to alienate every single business entity that he's partnered with by trying to screw them out of even more money.

There are people who succeed doing this but Phil isn't one. Instead, he pisses off his source of money and has to scuttle off like a cockroach to find some other scam.

If he had been just slightly less of an asshole, he could have been, if not PewDiePie-tier, at least only slightly below that tier. But no, he had to be so much of a dick that he alienated most of his audience to the point that his most ardent "detractors" are former fans.

It's not like he just had a huge fanbase and couldn't retain them because as they aged, his act was no longer in their interests. He had to attract people that in the first place, they're autistic as fuck, but on top of that, he pissed on their autism so much as to turn them into "haters" and "detractors" and then be amazed that when he deliberate pissed off an already toxic fanbase, they actually formed a cult even more autistic than his fans to fuck with him (SoK).

Sir noble has personally made sure DSP at the very least ends up with more subs than he started with. Think he's gifted like 5-7 subs tonight. Not forgetting the 5k bits as well.

Bitch is steppin up to replace the Norwegian butler.

This is why we'll have this pigroach around for a while more.

Maybe if he was allowed actually see how his decisions and the way he treats his viewers effects his pockets he would make better decisions.

People who aren't even trolls have literally brought this up and tried to show him stats and he just immediately dismisses it as trolling and usually bans whoever tries to give him well intentioned advice.

It's finally, mercifully over. Phil ends his Not A Fundraiser stream with 444 subs (check em) claiming he "gained" 30 subs but failed to acknowledge it was only a net of 2 or 3 because he lost over 25 subs, and only raised $107.90 out of his $2,000 goal. His Patreon lost $10 and it's now at $825. Only thing to salvage the night was a 5,000 bit cheer ($50) from one of his mods and a couple of 2,000 bit cheers. Ginposting imminent.

I feel sorry for Kat. I don't believe shes a gold digger or anything (you can do much better lol) but if I had to financially support my boyfriend in a stupidly large house, I wouldn't be impressed. He's not going away anytime soon don't get me wrong, but I think tonight might be a wake up call for him.

If he's smart, he'd cancel Netflix/WWE/whatever streaming shit he has. If he's DSP, 3am "47" tweets and hahaha that means something guys *snort*

I wonder if he's trying to downplay his disappointment because of the recent suspension. It definitely had something to do with "fundraising" as that word seems taboo in his chat now. So I wonder if he can't make a big deal out of it because he knows it'll cause more trouble for him. There's no way that $2000 goal was just a random number he pulled out his ass.

This is one of the things that legitimately blows my mind about Phil, when he scoffs and says things like, "I don't look at any of my metrics. I don't care, I just want to have fun." It's been his job for 10 years and he doesn't know any of his performance trends. Literally knows nothing about what his fans want, and couldn't care less. He's been on YouTube for over a decade and can't be bothered to keep current with how the site functions or give a single shit about viewing trends. With a narcissist like him you would think he would sit down and edit together 'This Is How You Do Plays' that are accidentally popular due to being over the top self-congratulatory about extremely average performances.

It seems like most of his success has been accidental and to succeed now he still depends on random chance as opposed to having any idea how to work towards something.

What's the autopsy?

Have his paypigs cottoned on to his wiley ways and are now sick of him? Or are they so deep in the DSP Cult that they only do exactly what Phil says and now he can't openly beg, they are oblivious to his financial woes?

I think it was a combination of factors, mostly that this was a less anticipated begathon. Phil for some reason was lazier than ever and failed to hype it up as much, even here I haven't heard about it as much as the christmas one. He wasn't doing shit for it not even wearing a santa hat. I'm not sure what if any unique 'reward' was being offered. Then theres the factor of the twitch crackdown and he's squeezing the stone for the 3-4th time not to mention every day is now a fundraiser anyway. Phil might have been spoiled by his earlier drives and expected things to come as easily and started to slack off even when it came to begging.

Gotta say I was dead wrong on how today would go. Figured the suspension would bring the people out to get back at the detractors by giving Phil their money. I think because Phil couldn't do his usual woe is me, save the house, the detractors tried to ruin me again schtick the viewers didn't really care. Today was just the worst day possible to try to do this it seems, for all the reasons you mentioned and more. Let's wait until the results of March's "special stream" and assess if today was an anomaly or the new normal.

I would not be surprised if he breaks out the medical condition for that stream.

I really can't see that going well. If he keeps the condition vague, no one's going to feel much after a few months, and he'll be as well off as Spoony. If he puts a name on the disease, people are going to call him out on inconsistencies or agitating his condition (High BP as he eats two burgers on a plate). That's not even counting if he's crazy enough to claim something like cancer-a ween would try to call his bluff eventually there.

EDIT: Also, if his condition is one of the bigger ones, fans are gonna nag him to go to the doctor. No point in pinching pennies if you're more likely to have a heart attack on stream.

Considering Noah Antwiler still keeps pulling 500 bucks a month on Patreon while acting like a complete sack of shit towards any fans who aren't just sniveling sycophants, I'd say that'd be an improvement to what Phil's doing now. At the very least he'd stop making garbage content and could just die out in the bowels of the Internet. If he ever truly had depression to begin with, he's going to have it again.

A fitting end to yet another narcissistic blowhard who took their fans for granted.

Dare to say another factor is that people around christmas time are in a much more giving mode than they are at the end of february and i'm unsure how it is in other places, but here in general you are still paying of what you bought for christmas and new year to a degree and not really wanna give away the little you have left.

Did he actually mention his taxes at all today?

If not, then I think he got his suspension over 3 things:
  • talking shit/insulting other streamers
  • implying bits have a monetary value
  • fundraising activities
If he was only in trouble for the bits thing, then he could've just phrased the "fundraiser" in a different way, but from tonight it seems he isn't even able to mention his tax situation on stream at all anymore.

To give this some more evidence, he didn't just separate bits from tips and patreon, he actually completely removed all mention of the "fundraiser".

He did mention it on Twitter, but that is completely separate from Twitch so it isn't something they'd care about.

His claims that it was related to giving bits a monetary value is probably only partly true, and if that's the case then he's not going to be able to mention his taxes now or ever again in the future, nor any medical conditions (at least not in relation to trying to get people to "participate")

Well, time to catch up on posts ᕕ( ᐛ )ᕗ

He is now switching to Star Wars because he wasn't making enough money.

That's a good first step. The next step is switching the streamers.

This mothertrucker! This gets me really mad. This guy can't understand, even when his life depends on it (which it kinda does), that he as an individual has to create the entertainment. A game alone rarely creates entertainment except you play it yourself. I don't talk about getting views with popular games, but creating entertainment, fun, a good ambience so you want to stay as a viewer. In this regard the game doesn't matter but only the streamer and to some extend his established community.
And if this fails, viewers are free to go to another streamer because there are hundreds or thousands who play the same game but less boring, toxic and greedy.

It's one thing to play games you don't like. But for god's sake, make your frustrating experience entertaining! BE the clown! Have a good laugh! Be objectively positive with your feelings but don't go overboard with unrespectful behaviour! If you can't manage that and play games you don't like just for the money and expect that the game and your holy presence on this greasy couch alone are good enough:
YOU ARE IN THE WRONG BUSINESS.

Good entertainment is kinda an artform but it's not that difficult, you can learn it. But he, after 10 years of a legacy, has not the splinter of an idea how entertainment works. I'm buffled how someone is capable of that. It's like drawing for 10 years, each and every day. But all you can achieve are scrawly stick figures.

I think the biggest annoyance ive noticed with his gameplay is him saying "I didn't know that". He says it in fucking tutorials even. "Hey you can long jump!" I DIDN'T KNOW THAT... like hes immediately defensive over his gameplay.

I'm not sure if "I didn't know that" is just a habit of saying or if he really defends himself with that. However this is just a stupid phrase. Of course he can't know that. Nobody knows that. This is why the game explains it. I wait for the moment he says the same shit about plottwists.

and of course the beginners trap bullshit. the sunshine jump off a fenced cliff one was mindboggling

Totally a beginners trap when you jump in a deadly hole without looking where you go (he never used the camera-buttons for all I know). It's totally the same as if you casually walk around at the start of the game and some spiky walls crush you without warning. Just the same!

Also great when he walks of the bridge and claims "I clipped through the bridge!".
Or when he claims Mario has no shadow so he don't know where he lands most of the time, even so Mario has a clearly visible shadow below him.
He really needs to wear his glasses and/or stop looking at his chat when he does things.
