He wouldn't need ween income if he'd never been trolled, there would be no GOOGLE RESULTS for employers to IGNORE so he could get a regular job. And he might actually have applied for one, since "Get a job" wouldn't be a troll refrain in his mind. Right now if you say "Get a job" he pretty much hears "JULAAAAAAY".

Plus, the whole trans-tom-gaybian thing is probably a result of the trolling, directly or indirectly, and that's gotten him onto dangerous medications and impromptu self-surgeries.

Trans-ness aside, he didn't look like he would ever attempt to get another job after Wendy's, and his parents seemed to agree that was for the best.
Though, he'd definitely be better off if he was never trolled because of crazy shit the trolls did like the taint incident, driving cross country for nothing, his nudes being leaked, him destroying his PS3, and other shit.
He would most likely get into his own shit (his criminal record prior to his discovery), but at least he'd be a crazy autist without pictures of his penis easily findable online.

The taint wound thing was all Chris, he would have died if it wasn't for trolls pestering him to go to the doctor. Trolls also helped him out when the fire thing happened as well.

Also, I think Chris getting discovered was kind of an inevitability, he gets up to too much exceptional shit in public, and he plastered his name on any thing he produces.

Keep in mind that he wanted to be famous for his comic, and in many ways he now is, just not in the way he wanted.

Chris didn't get discovered, and then immediately explode in notoriety because of his own actions.

Chris was marketed to the internet by others.

The initial catalyst of his discovery was actually Chris promoting Sonichu via leaving business cards at the library etc. If he didn't do that, then he would've never got discovered the way he did.

After that initial discovery, the signal got amplified on SA and other places, which is where I definitely agree with you that he got promoted.

Also, I have a feeling that Chris would have gone viral anyways a la Coppercab, there's a lot of exceptional stuff that he did around that time (the Adam Stackhouse stuff..etc).

Plus, consider that Chris has something in common with a lot of cows and communities we cover, I think he would have blown up on the internet in some way. Would he have still gotten the same level of attention and trolling? I don't know.

I also think that his habit of giving away his name to everything he does contributed heavily to the wealth of information gathered on him, and greatly exacerbated his troll problems.

I specifically claim that he wouldn't have gotten anywhere near the same level of attention. I don't think SA was it either.

Chris simply getting mentioned on the internet at all isn't what we're measuring here. There are tons of lolcows who get documented on little out-of-the-way forums that never go anywhere. Like Tommy Tooter was involved on some little forum somewhere and he became vastly more well known only after kf discovered him and essentially promoted him.

I think it was the Panda-through-Liquid trolling that sent him into the stratosphere. The combination of weekly (or sometimes daily) updates, plus high interactivity for everyone watching, plus the cwcki to document everything you missed, made Chris an autistic superstar.

Basically: if SA didn't know about Chris, but he was discovered online anyway, and we still ended up getting the cwcki, where would he be? Probably at approximately the same place. Now if he only had SA, but not the cwcki, he'd just be some old, forgotten SA meme.

Heh, Chris wouldn't have been able to fill that room at magfest if he was merely a forgotten SA meme.

I was thinking of how for years this forums position was, don't troll Chris, you can't troll Chris now, he's too savvy, too well protected, etc. But Quinn got in there. Yes I wish she had waited so we could of had longer of him posting here and doing those QnAs. But was that the end.

Quinn got in there because she was a facebook friend for years. Think about that, she befriended an autist for years, waiting for the moment he's fully desperate again so she can "troll" him, with some truly pathetic results (honestly, blocking the Q&A was dumb as fuck). I am honestly not sure which one is more autistic, Chris or whoever is behind the Jessica account.

To be fair though, there was one very funny thing about the whole Jessica stuff: The break-up photos Chris uploaded while he watched the MLP film, where he fully and voluntarily admits to being fat only because she told him that it's something that turns her on.

Actually, Marv was one of the few that waved the "inconclusive" flag back then (and I think he still does), nearly all of us went the troll route as soon as she became Chris's sweetheart.
