For the Sonichu-anime comparison I'd go with any of the template harem shows where an average high school boy has this problem where he literally cannot avoid being accosted by girls who want to take him on wacky sexually suggestive adventures. They usually start as light novels for some mid-20s otaku who had a shitty high school life to write himself a better one where eccentric busty girls fight for his dick and everything else is sunshine and jokes. I haven't watched much anime in a while but off the top of my head, Sora no Otoshimono comes to mind. The guy is a pervy dumb-arse who bumbles his way into being followed around by a group of girls who can do literally anything at any time. The show isn't really about anything, it's just a delivery platform for the shots of girls in revealing outfits and silly jokes.
They give off a vibe that they were written mostly to fulfil the author's desires, and they just happen to appeal to a wider audience because the author has desires that are universal among geeky Japanese schoolboys with shitty school lives. Then some people who can draw and voice-act make it appealing to the senses, and you have a product you can sell. Chris tries to do this with Sonichu except it appeals to no one except him, because it's just his life as he wishes it was, down to the names of people and places. And he makes it look like shit because he can't draw.
If I recall correctly, Chris enjoyed a few shows like this in the early 2000s. I'm surprised he isn't still into anime given how abundant this type of moe harem shit is now, and he can even get it on Crunchyroll without getting up off his arse to change the DVD.

Like any animal, Sorbet's just adjusting to living with one working eye. My old cat had his exact same predicament. Granted, mine was much older.
I also once had a dog get hit by a car when she was less than a year old. Her front leg was damaged and she limped with it her entire life. She was able to swim with it, and strangely, dig with it, but she could never walk with it again. And she lived 12 years.

Now that he's 36, I find it weirder and weirder that he's still looking for an "18-current age gal". I mean, back in the early to late 2000s, it was fine. He was 21, leaving a 3 year gap. Acceptable. Now, it's a gap of almost 20 years. That has to be unsettling to some people, even straight up pedophelia to others. What are other's opinions of this? Does he even know that it could be seen as a problem?

18-current age doesn't mean he's still expecting an 18-year-old girlfriend. 18 is his minimum. Also, you have to remember that Chris acts way younger than he is in absolutely every regard - if Chris were to ever somehow get a girlfriend it would most likely be someone in the younger half of his acceptable age-range because he's closer to them in maturity level. A 36-year-old sane single woman just wouldn't put up with Chris.

Sorbet is probably at this moment sitting on hoard crap, both eyes squinting in typical cat bliss as he wags his tail around, seeing Pollo & Lucy walk past every now and then, and eating common mice inside that hoarder house.
Sorbet is fine. He doesn't even notice half his vision is gone.

Sometimes animals survive accidents, and go on to live happily. I had a dog get run over when she was one, and the dog lived 12 years walking on 3 legs. She was as happy as can be and just had to live with being a 3-legged dog.

What would Chris think about something like this?
Would he be happy knowing there's a game where he can play as Sonichu, or would he mostly not care because it's not Sonichu: The Game tailored to his extremely specific (or vague) direction? I assume the latter, but if someone could get Chris into the freeware scene then maybe he'd be in less of a financial pickle.

Chris in recent years has been on a downward spiral. With Bob's death, and his mothers failing health he's standing on very unstable ground. His mental health has possibly been deteriorating, and his financial status is worse than ever, only barely managing to get by with a mixture of the monthly tugboat, Barbara's dwindling pension, and various sources of income from the internet.
With all of that in mind, could he get better?
Do you see any possible timeline in which Chris would be able to normalize himself, and live a better, more responsible life?
I think the biggest obstacle to this is that people have been enabling him for years, whether it be white knights or the LGBT community. But if he were to get institutionalized, given the proper counseling, could he perhaps live a humble life with some retard-friendly job like at a factory, or as a WallMart greeter?
With all of that in mind, could he get better?
