I wouldn’t be surprised to see Jo as a prospect trans kid or genderspeshul. I remember some morons speculating about Jo being trans years ago on either LJ or Tumblr, and the idea of making a tomboy like her trans just for not liking girly stuff is still deeply annoying to me even after all these years.
I remember reading a webcomic a long time ago where the authors were convinced that Jo was trans. Maybe that’s what you’re thinking of? That was the first this that popped in my head when they said an LGBT person was going to be in the comic, honestly.
I read what they’ve released and I’m pretty sure that’s the path they te going down. In a little information blurb about Jo, they say that she’s confused about her identity. In the first chapter she talks about wanting the book “Middlesex” for Christmas.
They aren’t being very subtle.

I know jack shit about BnHA but I doubt this is what these characters look like.

I feel like the author gets some things right, I felt driven to write a comment: "I've always seen Amy as a vain and proud person who would've put a bully in her place or plan some nasty revenge right away. Given how she was willing to burn Jo's manuscript to get back at her (in the book). Imagine what she could do someone she wasn't related to.

I get that you want to focus on the subject of racism, but Amy isn't one to quickly fall into victimhood. So I think Beth would be the better character to be a target of it since she's more sensitive. While there is a ways to go, being mixed race isn't the massive stigma it used to be."

I realize this would force the author to give this Amy the character's uglier traits instead of making her a victim. Also, she's a girly-girl, so why would she want to do a comic book about monsters? (Maybe novel-Amy would read shojo comics.)

The characters drawn here have to fight in the actual show, so besides the obvious brown washing, one of the most concerning things about this for me is the body types whoever made these gave the characters. They either look pencil-thin or kinda chubby in these, but in the show they're actually pretty fit. Specifically, you see Deku train to become strong enough to contain his power, but here he just looks flabby.

I don't know that webcomic you're talking about, sorry. I remember some proto-SJW's talking about the "Jo is a trans guy" theory on journaling sites, probably on LJ since that's where SJW's gathered before they invaded Tumblr.

Uuuuuuugh, I see. I'm probably not touching that transphobic and misogynistic pile of crap, then, unless I'm in a masochistic mood. I've never liked the "tomboy is actually a trans guy" bullshit because it erases GNC women, states that True Women (tm) must be ~girly girls~ to "qualify" as such and equals gender roles with gender identity - all of that is really fucking offensive, and it especially infuriates me when applied to Jo because she's not a ~perfect girly girl~ like Amy or Meg.

(I wonder how TF will they handle Jo's posterior character development, and especially her hooking up with Fritz. Will they genderflip Fritz, make him younger or simply erase him altogether, considering how many SJW's bash him for being "creepy" and "condescending" since he's older than Jo AND iirc had the gall of not mollycoddling her when he was her first proofreader?)

A lot of this stems from some of Tumblr 's earliest influences being shows like Adventure Time and Steven Universe. They latch on to these styles because noodle arms and sausage limbs are easy to replicate and only require knowing how to draw a few simple shapes, but since they never leave those comfort zones they have no understanding of anatomy concepts like form or structure.

Yet another "I made her look less....Ugh. Hire me, Nintendo~☆"-type "re-design" of Camilla from Fire Emblem Fates. The passive-aggressive "she's less creepy now thaty she's covered up" clearly tells me how terrified the OP is of fictional tiddy that reminds them of how pathetic and ugly they feel.

Seriously, what is up with SJWs and making Fire Emblem characters unsexy? The art isn't bad, but there's something about it that just feels flat and boring.
