It's also worth noting that that character committed sexual assault by deception but the implications of the criticism is that it's more of an outrage for victims to disgusted upon learning as much.
Yeah. That's kind of the point I was making in my post .if critics had actually watched the movie (As most reviewers will take second hand word or written word, at least these days) then opinionate on this one awkward scene that looks so glaring and out of place and "Much political feelings!"

Yeah, I honestly feel the scene played out perfectly for it's context .

I looked up whoever added it and he is exactly what you would pretty much expect.

He's the relevant bit of the Ace Ventura discussion page, with that user chiming in:

Funny enough, that Ghostsax person actually seems level-headed in comparison to the others here.

00dani thinks it's "transmisogynist[ic]" to believe that transwomen should tell men about their trans status before making out and/or having sex with them.

Lionboy-Renae was brought to "absolute tears" watching Ace Ventura.

I'm actually glad they brought up the "not really trans" argument and Silence of the Lambs, because unlike them I think that's actually a legitimate point. In Ace Ventura it's explicitly established that the Finkle/Einhorn character is batshit insane (they literally escaped from a mental institution and their bedroom is full of material about obsessively wanting to murder Dan Marino) and that he was able to stay undetected by assuming the identity of a missing female hiker. There's plenty of evidence to suggest the "trans" thing was a disguise and nothing to suggest the character was legitimately transgender.

I remember reading somewhere that the joke was supposed to be how ridiculous it was that Ace completely breaks down upon learning that he'd kissed another man. Something about fragile masculinity or whatever. Seems to have flown right over most of their heads.

Yeah, not sure how people watch this scene and not realize that the joke is at Ace's expense:

I swear, on a long enough timeline, everything will be considered offensive. Drinking water will be culturally appropriating fish.

Fascinated by Tibby's movie, or "suckumentary" as she calls it, Bailey becomes Tibby's self-appointed assistant. Tibby is annoyed by this at first, but gradually grows to accept Bailey. She later learns from Bailey's neighbor that Bailey has leukemia.

Bailey eventually goes to the hospital with a bad infection. Tibby avoids the hospital for a while, but eventually visits Bailey, bringing the Traveling Pants. She offers them to Bailey and pleads with her to take them so that they can help her. Bailey responds by saying that the pants have already worked their magic on Bailey by bringing her and Tibby together. Tibby spends a lot of time with Bailey in the hospital after that. A couple of days later, Tibby receives a phone call in the morning from Mrs. Graffman, Bailey's mother, saying that Bailey died in the night. Sadly, the pants cannot cure cancer.
"Sadly, the pants cannot cure cancer." I was looking up random shit out of boredom, and stumbled onto the article for The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I got to that sentence and it struck me as so ridiculous and bizarre that I laughed out loud for a good ten minutes.

LOL, an unsigned user removed the "Accusations of Transphobia" section from the Ace Ventura article for being "unencyclopedic" (hard to really argue with that), their edit was quickly reverted, then they posted in the discussion page and Ghostsax chimed in again yesterday:

"Our political narratives are unbiased, objective facts that are not open to debate, and if you disagree you shouldn't contribute here."

Speaking of The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, they have articles on all the characters for some reason. Of those articles, none of them actually have pictures that have to do with the movie. Blake Lively's character, for example, just has a picture of Blake Lively that wasn't even taken at the time the movie was made.
