Regarding the story itself, some of it sounds very believable imo, especially the part about Ryall's firing, like RockVolnutt just said, there's no way IDW would have not fired him after their dismal sales and PR gaffes. But the secretary thing is.. meh to be entirely honest, I mean, it would be hilarious if two male feminists colluded to fuck over a secretary's career and life just so one of them can write funny books, but I don't think it's realistic to be honest, you can create pen names without the need for such drastic measures, just ask CB Cebulski.

I've seen it done that way before. With an actual human attached to it you can 'prove' its not a pen name, despite similar writing tics and styles. It would have worked well in the gi joe situation, then they could have claimed it was definitely the fans being bigots if they wanted the secretary out as well, and who would have believed it was an elaborate con by sitterson writing under this girl's name?

It is a pretty huge drop, to be sure. He could blame it all on the Big Two and he has, and frankly, there may be some truth to it. But the fact of the matter is that IDW caters to an extremely niche market, and their employees have participated in some pretty shifty behaviors towards their customers. And said customers tend to be largely middle aged white guys who hew more right of center, or are largely apolitical.

The Sitterson debacle isn't the only one: I recall a couple years back, there was a row with one of the authors of the MLP comic inserting Cuteosphere/Dragondick's (a notorious Tumblr lolcow) OC in the background of a MLP comic, which resulted in the guy either stepping down or getting fired from the book. I believe since then, Hasbro or IDW have stated that fan characters can't even be inserted in background scenes.

And another MLP comic related one is with Jeremy Whitley, who's done the indie comic 'Princeless'. He's a pretty stereotypical "woke male feminist ally" as they come, and he's gotten into some slapfights with people over certain things. Granted, bronies are an exceptional bunch to begin with, but Whitley is sanctimonious if not just as much of an asshole himself, so both sides were dummies.

Where does the neo-liberal part come from? Bruce's political opinions have little relevance to Batman stories unless you do the bullshit "everything is inherently political" where you could project any view you want on him. Maybe Green Arrow could be called that for being something of a champagne socialist but stories are written where that backfires and/or he has to put his money where his mouth is.
