In general opinion that they suck, yes. Reasons, the differences are most likely night and day.
I don’t like the X-Men movies because they either focus on Logan, or the conflict with Charles and Magneto. And with the huge variety of X-Men there are, it feels disappointing when the X-Men are an entire team, yet there are only a few members that get all that much time in the spotlight. That’s why Logan was the best Superhero Movie Fox has made with the X-Men, the film’s focus on Wolverine doesn’t feel out of place.

This really grinds my gears as a comic fan. Mister Sinister first appeared years after the "The Dark Phoenix Saga" ended so it makes absolutely no sense for his distaff counterpart to appear in Dark Phoenix. As such this rumour he so desperately wants to believe in is complete bullshit. It reminds me of how he came up with the asinine theory that fucking Onslaught was the main antagonist of the film based of an off-hand remark regarding Xavier's growing overconfidence.
