TGWTG "Nostalgia Critic" / Doug Walker, Rob Walker, Mike Michaud, Mike Ellis, Holly Christine Brown, et al - The Incompetent Predator-Protecting Upper Management of Channel Awesome, Doug Still Not That Funny

LittleKuriboh and Amazing Atheist are both still candidates as far as I know. The other ones that were suspects have some info that conflicted with the vague things we know about the suspect. Those 2 on the other hand haven't really been ruled out.
Speaking of which
I saw this person accuse LittleKuriboh of sex abuse months ago when Lindsay was trashing Channel Awesome in 2017. And barely anyone said anything at the time in the post. It got buried in tweets. I just remembered it now.
She made a callout post but of course it was all under a read more which is deleted. Well.

It's... nothing new. It's just said that when she hang out with psyguy, LK abandon contact. So it's less "He sexually abused me!" and more of a "He didn't interfere and don't care about what psyguy did"

More than 20 000 subscribers in less than a week, good God.

At this rate I wouldn't be surprised if they lose 100000 subscribers and Mike to start looking for the handgun in his desk to commit suicide.

Since Michaud is a sociopathic dumbass, I think first he'll try to sue as many people involved in writing the doc as possible, in a last-ditch attempt to quiet them down and maybe squeeze some cash to stay afloat. And when that fails, he'll try to sell NC IP rights to anyone interested (:optimistic:) and run for the hills.

Some of it probably went to paying Corey Taylor for his cameo.

I've been a huge Slipknot fan for years. My very first concert was Slipknot, saw them again a few years later. (Hell, part of my KF name is a Slipknot reference). Seeing Corey and his son pop up at the end of a NC video... Well, I lost a little respect for him that day.

Wait a minute... Corey Taylor of Slipknot and Stone Sour had a cameo in a Nostalgia Critic review?

I thought the Amazing Atheist left Channel Awesome along ass time ago, he's the last person that I think that would be grooming fans.

He did leave CA along time ago (summer of 2011 I believe), however, that doesn't rule him out as a suspect. All that was clarified on the time frame was that the suspect worked for them for at least over a year (given the fact that the anonymous user told us that it took around a year from reporting him to management for them to fire him).

As for why he's a suspect, TJ has a long history of odd sexual fetishes and suspicions that he's some kind of sexual predator. The fact that he admits that he was friends with Mike Ellis (the higher up who was reportedly fired for sexual harassment) doesn't help his case.

I doubt they had to pay Corey Taylor to cameo. He's allegedly a big fan of Channel Awesome and I think has talked about them on his own social media even before the cameo. I imagine he and his band just happened to be in the Chicago area and worked something out with the CA gang. Plus he has interacted with other, lesser contributors too. Two examples I can recall are he appeared in a video by the guy who does Rocked Reviews, which is a much smaller channel, and he's chatted Todd up over Twitter DMs (I recall Todd posted screenshots of their convo, wherein his response to getting hit up by Corey was to joke that he thought he was a member of SOAD).

Eh... now that you say that, I don't know if I could really hate Corey all that much. The fact that he's willing to hangout with anyone and even help them out with projects they are involved with tells me he isn't a conceited person.

That being said, I wonder if he'll stop being a fan of CA given all the drama that's been going on.

Taking it with a grain of salt and all that, but I find it interesting they just dump this obscure lone post and then fuck off without further explanation. There's also a few people missing from the list like Suede and Sage, so maybe the person never got to know them like they did with the others (so maybe the person was involved during the two years Suede was gone, and I don't know when Sage joined). The part of Nash is pretty lulzy given how he acts on Twitter, though, but maybe he's different in person.

What's SadPanda up to, anyway? Of all the producers, he comes off as someone who stays under the radar, and perhaps knows of some things.
He's doing fine, seemingly. He still makes videos, but they're all in French, so I can't tell.
Here's him talking about the TGWTG drama (there's timecodes). Perhaps a French speaker could translate it?

Poor Chris. I know he was really excited to be brought on the site. I may not always agree with his views on movies, but I always respected him. He put a lot into his videos and, views on the CA twats aside, I was happy to see him finally get some recognition.

Speaking of recognition, one of the things that I'm most happy about is seeing Fredrik finally get the views and praise he deserves. I found his channel thanks to his SCP video, back when he only had a couple hundred subscribers. Always thought that he deserved more views. Happy to see his hard work finally paying off for him.

Corey definitely seems like a nice guy. (I still need to pick up his book, now that I can afford to).

I'm willing to bet that Mike basically went "Alright, we have the frontman for one of the biggest metal bands of the past 20 years coming in. If any of you talk about the site in a way that isn't glowing with praise... Then it's back to The Casting Couch. Yes, Malcom, that includes you."

Is there a rundown somewhere of what happened with The Fine Bros?
Long story short they tried to trademark/copyright reaction videos, angering their fans and causing them to unsubscribe en masse. At the peak they were losing 100,000 subscribers a day.

I should point out dropping subscriptions does not hurt a YouTuber's bottom line; a drop in views will. CA's total views have stayed about the same since this whole thing started.
What subscriber count does guage is the audience attitude towards them.

I don't think this is going to be the end of CA or Doug Walker.

This happens constantly. Something controversial happens to a big name and they get declared public enemy #1. It happened to the Fine Brothers, to Jontron, to Pewdiepie, to Chick Fil A, to EA Games, they do something or say something and there's a freak out. Videos are made, Tweets are sent, subscribers lost, people swear they will never watch or buy something from this person/company ever again.

A couple of weeks pass. The heat starts to die down. More weeks pass. People move on to new crazy shit that's happening.

Doug may be dealing with backlash right now, but he seems like an overall timid guy and will keep his head down and stay quiet. There's still plenty of people who love his Nostalgia Critic episodes and will keep watching them as long as he keeps making them. CA is going to take a financial blow from the loss of other "talent" and may never get back to where they were in their heyday, but it won't be enough to shut their whole operation down.
