You're just willing to engage in political practices that has genocided more people in the history of humanity for the sake of your own personal selfish feelings. The irony is that the policies you promote would result in the direct oppression of people like yourself.

Lol so far this is even worse than I imagined. I know this site is all about laughing at cows, but I have to respond here. Call me an A-log all you want, but the cognitive dissonance and hypocrisy is so blinding that I have to try and point out the insanity here...

For one, how do you know that in that hypothetical situation, that it wouldn't shake out in an opposing favor? What if they instead censored your ideals or philosophies instead? What if trans people weren't allowed to post? All because these companies decided, on their own, that you don't deserve a platform because they don't like you, your choices, or your ideals? Because they decided that transitioning was self-harm or mutilation? etc. You'd call that oppression, wouldn't you?

But when it's done to other people whose views don't align with your own, it's suddenly not oppression anymore and instead it's a "righteous act" meant to better the internet. I don't think anyone should be censored within reason, even if it's unpleasant.

You can't see that the philosophy you're espousing is hypocritical? I'm not saying that I happen to have any "answers" to the questions you posed either. But I will say that I think your perspective is warped and influenced by a bias that has sprouted from your fame and infamy.

And you can't be mad that your entire life is online and mine isn't. I mean I guess you can, but it's illogical because you did that to yourself. You're still doing it to yourself. And if you want an environment you feel comfortable being in, then why are you coming here? To a place where you know you won't be treated with the same genial respect you would probably be given elsewhere? That's your choice.

Here's my own analogy... Imagine this: I hate chocolate. But every day I go to a shop and order chocolate cake. Then I get upset and complain that chocolate shouldn't exist. Consider this: Why would I ever do that when I could just order Vanilla? Why do I have the right to complain when I'm the one torturing myself?

You asked what our solution was.. I can only speak for myself, and I'll say the same thing I've been saying this entire time: Realize that words can only hurt you if you let them.

In response to the reply, I'll admit, I'm surprised that you admitted I had a point at all.

When I said "I don't think anyone should be censored within reason, even if it's unpleasant.", that obviously leaves openings for censorship in extreme, rare, and unbelievably special circumstances. But I can't even think of what a situation like that might be.

Pedophiles, imo shouldn't be free to use the internet to lure children in. But the thing is, while they're free to say awful shit to try and lure children, it's punishable by law to do so afaik... Though tying everyone's name to a global account to take action against something like that seems like a slippery fucking slope. It might set a precedent that could be used to oppress less blatantly detestable populations. Or it might lead to less convicted pedophiles as their actions would be censored or banned instead of allowing them to get far enough to incriminate themselves and get caught. Idk. It's complicated. That you're right about. Sure, I'd prefer terrorists didn't use the internet to plan their activities. But I don't think it's worthwhile to give up our freedoms in pursuit of that goal. Doesn't mean I fucking love terrorists or anything though... But yeah, it's complicated. There are no easy answers. This is a huge topic, because you bought up huge changes involving the way the anonymity and the internet would work...

Also I understand that you aren't hurting anyone necessarily. But you have to understand that from we aren't exactly hurting you either. A crappy analogy could be summed up as such: The situation isn't me jabbing you with a safety pin. The situation is that I've set a safety pin on the table that you could simply choose to ignore, but instead you've decided to pick it up and, and you're repeatedly poking yourself with it. Instead of saying "fuck you guys" and going somewhere that might make you happy, with people who truly like you and appreciate your company, you're here. At a site you've described as a bullying website, filled with people you plainly dislike. I understand you said you just can't help it, that you seek this stuff out, but I think that's something you need to change. Because the moment you truly stop caring about what other people think, you'll be a lot better off.

As for your question for me, can you specify how far into the future we're talking here? Depending on the span of time, my opinion relates from "not changing as much as people might expect" to "unknowable". For the most part I see the internet going the way you think it will to a much lesser degree (which I still interpret as a negative thing). With so many sites restricting expression more and more in favor of protecting "feelings", it was only inevitable that sites like this (and other anonymous sites) would emerge. It's a literal reaction to that societal change imo.

fftopic:, but , just an FYI, while Communism (and the underlying philosophy) sounds legit on paper, the problem is that it doesn't work in practice. Just figured I'd let you know. If you want to figure out your politics with a visual comparison (and this goes for anyone who gives a fuck, which is probably no one), google the political compass and take the quiz. Maybe cosmo's Orwellian/Totalitarian views are confusing you because he's not being specific enough. He doesn't want a "Nanny State", he wants a "Narcissia State". He says he wants us censored and shutdown, not because of any political ideologies, but only because he says so. He doesn't care about the potential of a censorship-happy regime taking away his rights in the same way CWC doesn't care about all-powered mindreading hedgehogs reporting people's thoughts to the government. Cosmo doesn't want a political paradigm, because he doesn't have one. He just wants himself. He actually reminds me a lot of Porky Minch from Mother 3. He created a dystopic parody of civilization just to spite humanity, before purposefully trapping himself inside a pod forever to ride out the destruction of all life. And Porky was happy inside that pod for eternity, because he thought it was just him left, no one else around, no one could make fun of him anymore. That's how inhuman and immature cosmo is. He can talk like a person, but he's an animal. Violent, simple, incapable of higher-order thinking. Pity him if you want, just remember he enjoys that. Whatever seeds of a human being were left in that Crypt Keeper-looking body of his have since shriveled up into nothing thanks to the HRT.
