cancer risk for real??more like too useless; welding is a very well-paid skilled job that needs concentration, steady hands and attention to detail, not to mention acceptance of the risk of potentially being burned, electrocuted, blinded, poisoned (by ozone or NOx generated by the electric arc) or suffocated on the job, or the increased chance of cancer if you're a TIG welder who continuously handles lots of (mildly radioactive) thoriated electrodes day in day out, for many years at a time
