I think Chris and Barb both got themselves working cars because they failed to maintain the previous ones, and also paid for Chris’ lawyer fees after the GaMe PLaCE fiasco. Both money issues would not have existed if Chris behaved in public and the Chandlers took their cars to the mechanic regularly.
