I doubt Chris is that deep, Chris probably resents Barb for hampering his fun, plus he's already constructed a new narrative about how Borb totes accepts his lifestyle choice as a sexually confused crossdresser. We might have more reasons to resent Barb, but we are not Chris. I'm sure that to Chris, Barb's ass rises in the East and sets in the West.
Barb is multi-faceted compared to Chris, but that's just because she has a higher IQ and infinitely more life experience. Can you imagine, in your own mind, being the bell of the ball who met some guy at a bar and now, you're aging like a moldy sack of potatoes? Add to that being taken care of by your dimwitted son, a petty criminal draped in terrible girl's clothes, who is also aging worse than you are. Although Barb was an insane, frigid coot at an early age, she probably still imagined herself surrounded by intelligent, cute grandbabies at her beck and call. It's not that she does not love Chris because she most likely does, but Chris' biggest dream is waking up in CWCville with lactating breast and a gorgeous polyamourous couple by his side.

Cheis has cost his family well over $100,000 just due to his tism. If Chris hasn't been hellbent on going to Game Stop, Barb never would have been there.

People can't say "Chris needs to take on more responsibility" then complain that Barb is taking too much money. Chris is a man. He needs to take on his full share of the house burdens and not live there like he's an 18 year old boy.

I'm not white knighting Barb. I'm saying Chris needs to learn what it takes to maintain a home, and sitting around begging amd complaining isn't gonna cut it.

If Barb is taking a lot of Chris' money for "bills" and only some of it is for bills and the rest is for herself that's pretty shitty. Especially considering she's at least partially to blame for their financial problems. Let's assume Chris pays $500 for his share of the mortgage, $200 in bills, and $100 to help with groceries. That's $800 a month which I'm sure helps out a lot. I don't know much their mortgage is, or what the mortgage was originally before it was paid off, but taking any more of Chris' money than necessary is shitty. Especially when Barb is the one who took out the second mortgage. Taking more than Chris' share of the bills so she has money in her pocket would be disgusting.

They'd probably have more money if Barb didn't assault a police officer when they were being arrested for hitting Snyder because there would've been one less fine and Barb's charge was a felony IIRC. They'd have more money if they didn't have a second mortgage as well. As little as Chris is doing for the house Barb probably didn't do much even when Chris was younger. They're hoarders and Barb wasn't cooking and because of the hoarding I doubt she was cleaning. It makes sense that Chris doesn't know how to take care of home since he probably didn't have good role models.

I'm not trying to white knight Chris here, but Barb is far from a victim. I'm sure she's equally as responsible, if not moreso for their problems as Chris is.

I was just pointing out that if Chris did resent her, it's much more understandable than Barb resenting him. Barb does (or did) a lot more shitty stuff than Chris.

Any reason we have to resent Barb that involves Chris would be a reason for him to resent her because he's actually experienced it first hand.

You also can't expect Chris to just accept responsibility and take control of his life. As a developmentally challenged individual who grew up being raised this way, he's not going to have that "aha" moment and do what he needs to get his life in order. Chris brings upon his own misery and isn't immune to the consequences but Barb has done barely anything to prepare him for the future.

The thing with Barb and Chris, they're not even really like parent and child. They're like couple, Chris kind of treats her like his pseudo-wife. He likes to call her Barbera-Ann, enjoys her "flirting". And by all reports she encourages it. Any reasonable dynamics between a mother/son/daughter just won't apply to those two. "Couples" like that don't want the other to thrive. It's text book co-dependency.

Do you mean the game place?

If you're talking about the game place, no. Chris himself knew he was banned and didn't go back. He saw the "under new management" sign and was suspicious. He didn't think he should go back so he mentioned it to Barb. It was her idea to cautiously (lol) go there and scope things out together.

An example of this is how a bit ago, Chris received a credit extension. Of course, being Chris, he got really excited about this new money in his pocket. But Barb took some of it and paid some of her creditors. More than the minimums, in fact.

Chris complained publicly about Barb paying more than the minimums and lots of people ridiculed him for that. "boo hoo, chrissy is complaining about Barb being responsible". But no one paid attention to the important fact that it was her debt she was being responsible with, and at Chris' expense.

She was paying down her debt with Chris' debt.

Yes... but he isn't your typical 36-year-old man. It's not like he's some normal dude who refuses to leave home and get his shit together. We can't hold Chris to the same expectations that we would have for your average person.

Even that would be kinda complicated, don't you think? If his employer googled his name that might not end too well. Not to mention the fact weens might call the place and screech JULAAY. He also seems to get banned from any place that he frequents too often and he has an assault charge or two under his belt. Not impossible, I definitely agree with you, but I don't think it would be as simple as "just getting a job."

Maybe landscaping or physical labor would be best, but I would think Chris would consider that beneath him.

Now Chris is even trying to rip off Lovecraft's concepts. That tentacle arm and melting body are scary, but the rickets on that long faced skank are even scarier. It's almost as if Chris copied a talisman from the fabled Necronomicon, which can bring about the destruction of humanity.
