There were three people on the couch, two male and one female (the girl is also a Spyro runner, not sure about the other two). All three on the couch were explaining how the game mechanics and speedrun strats work, one of the guys apparently isn't as familiar with the game as the other two people and asks questions and makes observations (which is probably why he was chosen for the couch, so that people who are watching SGDQ but aren't familiar with Spyro will understand what the fuck is happening).

Whether you like him or not, that's a tough situation. Gaps that long in your resume can damage your ability to land a job, which makes unemployment a feedback loop.

I said it before, but I hope he's not limiting himself to video game companies. It can be hard to get any work in his field and I don't consider his position damning - he's got a better resume than void, that's for sure.

If I had his ear, I might recommend that he just take a job to pay the bills because frankly, he's already made such headway in his silly passion - what other LPer is known and respected for the level of craft he gives? Some people can find a job doing what they love, others work a job so they can afford to do what they love on their own time. Nothing wrong with the latter. Maybe that is what he's doing... maybe it's optimistic to say but it's possible he just doesn't talk online about his job situation that much.

Honestly, any that are even mildly successful. He's pretty much a nobody.

His prospects for getting another job aren't great, either: from what I understand he got his old one because the company was getting rid of their old video editor, the old video editor trained Chip before he left the company. I've always suspected that the only reason he was hired was as cheap labour because the company was struggling financially (and that the guy that left was made to train his replacement in order to get severance pay or whatever). This is the only job relevant to his skillset that he's had.

Paranoid delusions are pretty significant signs of a psychological issue. The idea that a waitress spontaneously decided to make you question reality based around a smoothie is not a feasible basis for a panic attack, and Chip confirming Voidburger's idea of being "gaslighted" should be taken with a grain of salt since he probably realizes it's easier to go "yeah, uh-huh" than to start another argument with her. At this point, I can only hope that Voidburger gets help or Chip just runs before she decides to turn her incognizant rage onto him.

(Of course, their relationship would sooner end in a murder-suicide than that ever happening.)

Well, of course all LPers are nobodies to the rest of the world, aside from freak accidents like pewdiepie. I just meant who tries to do as good a job with it as he does. I certainly don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of LPers, but if I compare him to, let's say, the RunButton guys... I used to like them, but I had to turn them off after I tried to watch them play a Mario game and instead of say anything about the game or even other games, the dialogue was an hour of smarmy ignorance about single-payer health care. I get plenty of that from the cows we observe here, I don't need to be told the correct opinions from two guys sitting on their couch playing video games.
