Seriously, when I went to Italy I was amazed by how many and how awful the Chinese tourists were. They’re just oblivious to social norms. Fortunately I didn’t see them at any of the restaurants or events we attended but they were out in force in the cities. In one cafe they were doing a video shoot and disrupting all the customers, pissing everyone off while the Chinese chick starring in the video was making duck faces holding up her cappucino.

I didn’t see many this year when i travelled to Europe, thankfully.

In one red fell swoop, they started a fire. And now they're standing at a terrible lose-lose situation:

A) Either admit they really are too fucking harsh with their moderation and that they should be more transparent and open about it while simultaneously being a bit more light handed

or

B) Close the thread and fucking ban everyone and their mother- proving the point of pretty much every post pointing it out. Especially the callout by ListeningGarden.

Can't wait to see their next move.

ResetERA's crazy moderation and their "heads I win, tails you lose" decision making reminds of something from the Gulag Archipelago.

At one point, the Soviet Union actually outlawed the death penalty, which did nothing to prevent them from killing people anyway.

They even got called on it at one point when they were about to put a guy to the wall to pose for rifle fire, and the response was:

"This man is not being executed, this man is being shot."

Some people did not agree with them handling it this way and spoke out and surprise surprise, the thread was immediately locked. I guess they wanted feedback, as long as this feedback was not too critical of the moderation. Why would anyone ever think that that site is an echochamber?

It's extremely transparent that this thread was only opened as a roundabout way for people to thank the mods and give them the asspats they think they deserve.

They wanted shit like "Thank you for making this community for what it is" and "Please don't let the trolls make you feel bad", instead they got actual feedback and they couldn't handle it.

Cerium should follow our example and allow the userbase to cyberbully those cuckpockets like they deserve.

Even with more new mods banning people every hour of the day, they're still banning so many people that they can't even be bothered to write proper ban reasonings. It's always "junior account" if they're a newer account, or "history of infractions" for older accounts. It's like the reasonings were made by a word generator just throwing in random terms like "bad faith", "drive-by", "downplaying" etc.
