I want to see some more variety. Nobody's ordered a medallion for any other beloved Sonichu characters (or anything else)?

Naturally, I wish it had been number 69.
I wonder if Chris may be "saving" 69 and 66 until some mysterious set of buyer prerequisites are met.

I'd include their captions but I'm too lazy to retype and Tumblr's being shitty when I try to copy and paste. In a nutshell, nicely wrapped, they're surprised Chris fulfilled their request, kind of smelly, cute, VERY PROFESSIONAL, fingerprints, and a gorgeous lock of hair.

It was essentially a negotiation. I got charged for shipping and Chris offered the second medallion as compensation. I'll post pictures when I (eventually) get them. His quality seems to have improved lately so I'm hoping mine will be decent.

That's cool. I'd give Chris full points for how he handles these negotiations except the small point that Chris doesn't allow people to back out once they've bought a medallion. Like, if you buy a medallion and then message Chris with your request, if I'm understanding it correctly, he's OK with turning down your request and sending you a generic Sonichu medallion, if he finds your request offensive.

He might have good reasons for turning down that request, but until work's begun, the customer should still have the option to back out.

He's sending me a second medallion as well to make up for the one he purposely sabotaged. We also made a deal where I'll withdraw my claims about him doxxing me if he'll give me a free drawing.

I ordered a Tomgirl Robbie Sonichu medallion a while ago. Not sure if Chris has shipped it yet.

I got my replacement in the mail today. It's just a standard happy sonichu. As soon as I took it out of the box the nose fell off though. The base coat of paint has also got noticeably worse with visible fingerprints and the white base being completely unpainted in specks. It was #73

these aren't bad. That Rosechu is stunning in its flamboyant flamingo glory.

He could possibly sell or charge extra for a custom chain like that and drive up sales. I'm surprised people don't comment on that too when discussing the medallions aesthetic.

And the Certificate/Maintenance card?

The nose can be reattached with Krazy Glue (see? The card already came in handy!), but a bad paintjob is a deal-breaker. Care to load some photos?

So, what are you going to do now? Send it back and ask for yet another new one? If it's really bad I guess it would be better to insist on a new replacement until one is actually worth the money instead of opening a case on eBay.

He does seem to respond to questions like "Will you make this if I order it?" on eBay. So a buyer who wants a "questionable" request but nothing else does have that option.

But I do agree that that is only halfway there. Ideally, he would offer refunds if negotiations go sour. I suppose the risk to him of that is that weens order a million Cockhead McGees and then back out, and money is constantly flowing in and out of his account (would Paypal ding him for this?).

Chris isn't lying or anything, but it'd be better for him to be more explicit, saying that if people wanted to be guaranteed their custom medallion, they should ask him before placing the order.

I completely agree. He definitely should specify that negotiations on character selection can and probably should be done BEFORE any money is paid. And I don't think he did that adequately in that ad. So he loses points for that. He seems to be completely willing to answer questions like that before someone orders, so his intentions seem ok, it is just his execution.

I am willing to cut him a little slack about refunds. Because he is Chris, he is susceptible to being jerked around, and people bringing up silly things just to get a reaction. I think it is ok for him to say "If you pay your money, I will give you what you paid for, end of story". But if he does that, he really has to follow through and not jerk people around either. He hasn't been bad about that, but there are definitely occassions where he could have been better.
