I do wonder what part of 'troll platformer' he's not getting. Funnily enough this is the one game where he can call the dev an asshole and he's right, because that was the point.

155. Still not past the apple checkpoint.

I heard he played Boshy but I could be confusing that with Guy. Boshy is an even harder game. As an aside that some might find amusing: one of Phil's competitor's in his FGC glory days Floe made a name for himself when playing IWBTG and Boshy games:

Floe's playthrough of the game's are considered to be the most entertaining runs of the games. Best part is when he's killed with dollar signs "What? I'm Jewish! Those shouldn't kill me!"

Edit: he's crying that he's played this for an hour and his hand is killing him. This looks like an easy rage quit and he barely even started the game.

See, this is what I was referring to when I said that this game and all similar ones are a great opportunity to entertain at your own expense. Instead Dave spends all his energy complaining that the game is 'bad.'

It should be a streamer's dream to get to play these games for the first time for a large audience - "my right hand is killing me already" Mr Built-His-Own-PCs-When-Young

186.

EDIT: 188, finally made to a new checkpoint. Woo.

Barely an hour into his ~7 hr marathon, Dave's right hand 'is killing' him from using arrow keys and shift key (jump ).

After an hour he finally made it past the apples.

In the next screen he looks at all the spikes "UUUHHHHHH! There's nothing here!" Then goes back to the previous screen and easily dies.

Edit: he figured out the screen has the disappearing block bullshit from Mega Man and is now bitching that the game is dropping his inputs when jumping. :story:

Holiest of hells, I am so hoping someone makes a montage of Dave's camera and table shaking when he keeps SMASHING. THAT. JUMP.

I can almost believe his bullshit when I can hear him absolutely crunching that key with his fat fingers, and the character still doesn't jump at times. (half the time it's because he falls off an edge and then hits jump, which counts as a second jump in double jump games)

"You can hear the click! It won't do the double jump!" He keeps mis-timing it. He keeps doing the 2nd jump late.

Proceeds to rant and call the guy who gave him 25 bits a bully that gets off on bullying others.

So where did the whole “Dave” thing came from? Haven’t been paying too much attention to Phil as of late.
A couple years ago someone sent a cheer calling him Dave and he said his names not Dave. Then, from what I’ve seen,Tevin picked it up and ran with it and a bunch of people started calling him Dave. It’s kind of like why people call Wings Richard.

Edit: 262 deaths btw

he made it to the troll screen
then endeavored to go back to it again

just read a shoutout to "big musky warewolf balls" and didn't flinch

If any particularly mean people are glancing at the Farms and also making game suggestions to Phil on these "rage-a-thons" I will prepare a list:

1001 Spikes
Binaries
Bleed 1&2
Celeste
Downwell
Electronic Super Joy
Eryi's Action
HackyZack
N++
RIVE
Snake Pass
Spelunky
Super House of Dead Ninjas
They Bleed Pixels
Volgarr the Viking
VVVVVV
Wings of Vi

With a couple exceptions that have lenient checkpoints, and from what I've seen him when playing platformers, he will not finish a single one of these without some serious mental breakage, and most of them not at all. This is my personal guarantee.

Volgarr isn't that hard like the other games not unless you take the alternate path that gives you limited lives.

Edit: he's quit, he barely got past the apple part and got past one other screen.

With very little experience it gets rewardingly easy and cool as long as you're patient and understand your moves, but Dave is not the type to be patient and it's quite obvious he keeps doing the same crap over and over again when it doesn't work. I'd be amazed if he finishes even the first level in Volgarr.

EDIT: Same goes for Snake Pass - it's a simple and easy to master game, but the button inputs feel new and fresh, make you almost feel like a snake. Dave's not getting out of that without making constant mistakes and raging about them.

And with that, Dave takes his second break of his “7 hour” rage-a-thon. Real hard worker tbh.

Somebody want to keep approximate track of the total length of his breaks and his prestream? Not to the second or anything, but I'd love to know how much of his "7+ HOUR RAGEATHON" didn't feature any actual gameplay.

Well his break right now was twenty minutes if that helps any, but I am not sacrificing any more sanity points. I'm guessing the folks who make vids on his stuff will keep a closer track.

It was nice to see a game like this affect Phil in the way it takes over all lovers of these types of games. He wanted to keep going to see what the next thing would be, in this case the next "screen", with a feeling of accomplishment when the next check-point is reached. I saw him show enough curiosity to wonder what a fallen platform would do if ridden as it returns upwards, to be rewarded with the discovery a new "screen".

thirdeyethethird cheered saying "I only tease you cuz you have thick skin", or something. Phil returned his gesture with a full ten seconds of lashing out, "You bully people because there's something wrong inside you" etc.

Really nice to see how Phil has no clue how technology works, especially PCs. He built komputahs, you know?

Fumbles around in his stream-layout to prepare the next game, during the stream.
While OBS possesses some very cool and very obvious features:
  • Studio Mode. Your audience sees what you want them to see, while you can change other layouts in the additional studio-window. As soon as you are ready, you klick 1 button and it transitions to the chosen layout.
  • Create new "scenes" (you can also duplicate them). This helps to create different prefab layouts for any occasion someone wishes. So you don't need to change your stuff around all the time until it finally fits again.
But I somehow doubt he ever updated OBS to get at least the studio mode. Dave hates to read small informations, like "Here is a new update". Or like he can't find the online mode in Street Fighter V right now and helplessly asks the chat where it is.

And my last cents: The I Wanna Be The Guy part was a torture. If his keyboard really doesn't work properly, why doesn't he say he can't play it, playing it would make no sense? And couldn't he check this shit before the prestream? Apparently not, like usual. Dave doesn't care for quality, people have to endure or get the fuck out.
