I'm trying to play the original MSX2 game right now. I keep getting to the door that's guarded by two guys then get stuck because I have no idea where to go from there.

Would that be the beginning of the game? If so, perhaps there is a vent nearby you could use.

wow that was bad. I have never watched DSP before and that was a level of poor playing I never could have expected. How does one not learn the controls in MGS there are 20 minute cutscenes and codex calls about them. I had forgotten how much the game actually tells and shows you to prevent... this. If I wasn't aware that DSP was a thing I would have assumed this was a troll. On a side note I hope there is a secret theatre in MGS 5 just so I can see Metal Gear Kojima sons of the Kojima.

In all of his MGS plays, he never uses the codec to call anyone.

This is most noticeable in MGS1 where he complains how he doesn't know where the PSG-1 is, and said he had to look it up. And a montage of youtube comments point out he could've just called Otacon who would've told him exactly where it was. And indeed he criticized how he forgot Otacon's codec frequency and said the game required writing things down when everyone pointed out he could've just called Otacon right when he got his frequency and it would've saved it.

Indeed he criticizes Metal Gear for having lots of cutscenes despite the fact one of his favorite games is reportedly Heavy Rain.

Can't mess up the controls when they are constantly on the screen now can you. I'm sure he managed it though.
Its crazy to see how someone who plays games in the modern era adapts to playing games I grew up with. I wonder if he plays MGS 5 he will notice how much has changed to be more accommodating.

Fuck, I'm dumb. I kept getting seen by the guards after they were relieved so I assumed I was supposed to do something else. I didn't realize I just had a really small window of opportunity to get through the door. And C-No, there wasn't actually a vent.

I should of asked at what part of the game it was. I was thinking at the beginning of the game. Even then, I was thinking of the PS2 version that was on Subsistence. Sorry for that.

Just got the Metal Gear Legacy Collection for the Puss3, and I'm starting off with Peace Walker. Since this is one of the first models (backwards compatibility not locked off yet), I wasn't too bothered about it being used, since I can just find my copy of MGS, and play that. So far, I do enjoy the graphic novel style the cutscenes have. But then, especially since playing games like Max Payne, I've been a sucker for graphic novel style cutscenes/graphic novel instead of cutscenes.

Oddly enough my first reaction to this image was "Solid Snake doesn't use a knife..." (except in MGS4)
Snake's Revenge. If it has any relevancy aside from being a spin-off that Kojima didn't work on, it did inspire him to make Metal Gear 2 after he was on a train ride with a guy who (may of) made Snake's Revenge.

Snake Eater and peace walker are my favourites. Although my buddy told me this one story from when he was playing Sons of Liberty:
He was playing really late into the night, at around 3. He finally starts running around Arsenal Gear's "digestive system" and starts getting the "glitch" calls from the AI Colonel. The main one that got to him was the one telling him to turn off his system, thinking he'd been playing too late and he was hallucinating.
