Oh FFS. Is this the part where I say "I never said you did"? Stop acting like your avatar.I never said it was.
The content of Meyer's videos the last few weeks has been:I haven't been keeping up with the Comicsgate Youtube videos. Has Meyer himself talked about it?
Guess you missed this one from last week, but yeah he’s been mostly sticking to mainstream stuff:Furthermore, the comics he has been reviewing seem to be more mainstream; a lot of X-men books. It feels like it's been a while since he's rated a book he would be pretty much predestined to hate, like Kim & Kim (Mags' book about a punk rawk lesbian bounty hunter and her best friend, a punk rawk trans-woman bounty hunter).
That was when he was still working for DC. Now that he’s not tied to them, he’s no longer holding himself back from mocking the idiots that tried to ruin him.which is kind of funny since Van Sciver has a reputation, substantiated or not, of being the adult in the room that reins in other ComicsGaters when they start to get 2edgi for everyone's own good.
Hehe fair enough, though if I were going full avatar I'd probably complain about people going after my livelihood and offer people worthless IP shares as a settlement.Oh FFS. Is this the part where I say "I never said you did"? Stop acting like your avatar.
I don't think Zaid is generating good publicity for himself here, but that doesn't mean you're not right about his thinking. There's nothing surprising about this guy making bad decisions.
I really have no idea why he was hired in the first place.
DO. IT.Hehe fair enough, though if I were going full avatar I'd probably complain about people going after my livelihood and offer people worthless IP shares as a settlement.
As with the Maddox case, many of these decisions will probably remain shrouded in mystery forever.Oh yeah that's become plainly obvious he's creating terrible publicity, and it certainly won't help him with an old school district judge that he's had such a spergout on social media. I really have no idea why he was hired in the first place.
He was on tv at least one time, so there's that.Hehe fair enough, though if I were going full avatar I'd probably complain about people going after my livelihood and offer people worthless IP shares as a settlement.

The content of Meyer's videos the last few weeks has been:
And as others have said, he is probably acting on sage advice from his attorney in this regard.
- 80% comic reviews
- 20% adventures in order fulfillment & postal meter ProTips
- 0% mention of Waid or other drama

On one of his recent streams, Van Sciver was actually kind of complaining about the new nice guy Zack and saying he can't wait for the case to be over so that Zack can go back to his old style again - which is kind of funny since Van Sciver has a reputation, substantiated or not, of being the adult in the room that reins in other ComicsGaters when they start to get 2edgi for everyone's own good.

Richard C. Meyer, AKA Ya Boi Zack, AKA Diversity & Comics is suing powerful and well connected comic book author Mark Waid for Tortious Interference and Defamation.
Ya Boi Zack is a longtime comic book fan, and more recently a critic of the far leftist, SJW (or NPC) influence in these stories. He became a YouTube critic of comic books when he noticed a clear pattern of political hectoring within these superhero stories, but far worse, a diseased practice of political harassment by comic book professionals towards their customers online.
He stood up and articulated the feelings of frustration that thousand and thousands of comic book fans felt as they watched their hobby twisted into a megaphone for extremists. And he gained a large following for it.
This came with consequences. Those he criticized formed a targeted harassment campaign against him, smearing his good name and attempting to ruin his life. He countered this with creativity.
When he crowdfunded his own comic book, it raised an unbelievable sum of $400,000.
They panicked.
Mark Waid, a bully with a history of harassing those who disagree with him, took it upon himself to call Zack's publisher and interfere with the contract they had between them. He bragged about it, before and after doing it. He scared this publisher.
And Zack lost his publishing deal.
This was a foul misdeed, and needed to be answered. Zack sunk the profits from his comic book into a lawsuit against Waid. And Waid is now crowdfunding his own defense to protect his ability to threaten comic publishers who wish to publish moderate or right leaning comics.
He wishes to enshrine his ability to threaten anyone opposed to him, to ruin lives, reputations, and careers in virtue signaling tantrums. He is at the very heart of the problem in comics, and we must NOT allow Zack's limited resources to be a reason why he isn't STOPPED.

@AnOminous Can you or anyone else explain to me precisely what "actionable defamation" is?
