You honestly think Chris takes things like that into consideration? Most likely Chris believes that whatever iteration of a character he is familiar with (for example: Disney's version of Cinderella) is the only version of that character, and will therefore be the one you can "meet in person after the merge".
And since Chris is essentially a nine year old kid who gets money "free" from the Government, has had his every whim granted throughout life, and has never known a life where he's had to go without anything, he likely has no idea about subjects like overpopulation or the catastrophic impact to the world's resources, economies, environment, and food supplies there would be if several billion new inhabitants were to suddenly materialize. It would be horrific. Starvation, homelessness, pollution, job shortages...and that's not taking into account any new diseases they might introduce to our reality. Throwing off the delicate balance our world currently has in such a massive way could very well mean our extinction. But Chris figures things will work themselves out and all will be fine because that's the way it works in all the cartoons he watches. The problems shown in each episode are all solved in about 25 minutes, sometimes more if it's a two-parter.
