I'm guessing their main motive is capitalizing on the Shrek memes. Expect lots of shitty forced "PLEASE MAKE THIS A FUNNY MEME" moments in the reboot.

Minion memes used by nice girls on FB but it's replaced with Shrek...i'd say an ogre would be accurate on their appearance.I'm guessing their main motive is capitalizing on the Shrek memes. Expect lots of shitty forced "PLEASE MAKE THIS A FUNNY MEME" moments in the reboot.
Shrek appeals a lot to me because it's an absolutely perfect example of how you can lampoon fairy tale tropes while also creating a delightful and satisfying fairy tale in of itself. It's the millennial generation's The Princess Bride. But seriously I've seen the first Shrek one time ever. I didn't know it was a sacred cow.

I dunno but a few years ago a chunk of the original 2d storyboards and Chris Farley's voice work for Shrek made its way to youtube so it wouldn't surprise meWasn't Don Bluth originally supposed to make make Shrek a 2D animated movie?
Movie would've been way different but I like Farley's emotional range. Makes Shrek seem more human.I dunno but a few years ago a chunk of the original 2d storyboards and Chris Farley's voice work for Shrek made its way to youtube so it wouldn't surprise me
Yeah thats what I thought. Honestly I think a properly 2d animated Farley voiced shrek may not have done so well at the box office, but if this sample is any indication it could have been a far better and more memorable filmMovie would've been way different but I like Farley's emotional range. I seem to recall one of the DVD versions for Shrek 1 included deleted scenes via storyboard, and it sounded like they couldn't get Myers to voice Shrek, but it's been so long since I actually pulled out my Shrek DVD I can't tell either way.I dunno but a few years ago a chunk of the original 2d storyboards and Chris Farley's voice work for Shrek made its way to youtube so it wouldn't surprise me
I never really had a problem with Myers' work in the movie. I know he's kind of an acceptable target at times because of his scenery-chewing but he played this part well.Shrek was written with Chris Farley in mind, but he passed away when two-thirds of his lines were recorded, so they had to rewrite the character when they recast Myers in his place. That's why it's not all that surprising the two Shreks are considered different characters.
