Millennial congresswomen, they’re just like us. No, really, this one is.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the democratic socialist and youngest woman ever elected to Congress, can’t afford to rent an apartment in Washington, D.C. before her job starts in January.

“I have three months without a salary before I’m a member of Congress. So, how do I get an apartment?” Ocasio-Cortez, 29, told the New York Times. “We’re kind of just dealing with the logistics of it day by day, but I’ve really been just kind of squirreling away and then hoping that gets me to January.”

Ocasio-Cortez shocked the country when she secured a primary victory over New York Rep. Joe Crowley, the 10-term incumbent who was widely believed to be the most powerful Democrat in the House after Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi. Before she turned to politics, Ocasio-Cortez worked as a bartender.

Now she’s telling voters not to worry about her housing situation.

“There are many little ways in which our electoral system isn’t even designed (nor prepared) for working-class people to lead,” Ocasio-Cortez tweeted. “This is one of them (don’t worry btw - we’re working it out!)”

Ocasio-Cortez is widely viewed as an up-and-coming star in the Democratic Party in the wake of her surprise win, fueled in part by her leftist policy ideas, which more closely align with millennial voters than her future congressional colleagues. She believes, for example, in single-payer healthcare and has suggested taxing Wall Street to fully fund public universities. She also supports “clean campaign finance,” and has said she will not accept corporate donations.

By that logic cancer retroactively isn’t a burden if you wind up getting better. I’m not saying it’ll be a burden a year from now when she’s getting rich off legal insider trading, I’m saying it’s a burden now because it is.
Oh fucking well. Maybe she should have thought of that before running.

This is the easiest thing in the world to deal with if you are a single person with no dependents. When I was a goddamn teenager in college I dealt with finding a place to crash for three months, getting a temp job for cash, and setting up a new place to live every summer break. I managed and I was a dumb kid. You mean to tell me that for a US Congresswoman that is a decade older than I was this type of change is a burden?!?

Get the fuck out of here with that bullshit.

How long do you think she has as a Congresswoman? Thinking about it, either she burns out quickly and drops out of the upcoming Congress or she is able to get her mouth into the trough and turn herself into a ten-term politico with an oddly large amount of wealth as a public official.

This bitch is going to mouth off to the wrong people. She honestly thinks she is some sort of revolutionary second coming. Bitch, you are a freshman Congresswoman from New York City. There are three other congressmen from that same city alone. You are literally the voice of one densely packed neighborhood that sits like a pimple on the rest of Americas body. You'll be sat down, told to shut up, and vote the party line. And if you don't, you won't get invited to the cocktail parties, you won't get put on any meaningful sub committees and you won't be able to represent the people of said pimple in any meaningful capacity and will be voted out of office in two years.

That's ok. I just logged in to get assmad over some socialist spic in Queens. Now that I've rreeeeeed I'm off for tendies and to fap into my MAGA hat.
Race ya!
Oh fucking well. Maybe she should have thought of that before running.
Or we could stop making society so unreasonably expensive to live in.

Could be worse. At least we have states that are cheaper to live in and rural neighborhoods.

Costa Rica has the same cost of living as we do but their wages are a fraction of ours. They actually have to sneak into Panama to buy groceries and smuggle it back in, they have guards at the borders to check if that's what you're doing. I'm also told they're much more socialist than we are, but I'm not sure why the wages are trash if that's the case. I blame Chiquita Banana.

Yep. Hell, I’ve been squatting in some asshole’s crawlspace for fifteen years and haven’t spent a dime on anything but leather, lube, and advertising. I saved a fortune. But I’m still at least five years away from my congressional run so the situation is not identical.

I'll vote for you when the time comes. Even if they have to bus me in.

Once again the point that socialists only become socialists because they suck shit at being capitalists has been proven and it's all thanks to this woman.

Even with ideology and politics aside, she just straight up sounds like she couldn't find her own asshole if she was squatting over a mirror

Much appreciated! I’ll be running under an assumed name so just look for the candidate who’s constantly advertising GoDaddy during the campaign (long story short i accepted a sponsorship to pay off some outstanding gambling debts)

Her complaints are invalid on the basis that she may one day resolve the problem, didn’t you hear?

Where did anyone ever make that argument? Her complaints aren't invalid, they're just pathetic coming from a person with a $280,000 college degree in economics who's still about flat broke 5 years after graduation.

And the fact that she's poised to resolve her financial problems in the near future doesn't invalidate her pathetic complaints, what it does is shoot down the idiotic notion that showing up to her new big girl job is somehow her taking on "a burden".

Is this really so hard to follow, or are you people really jumbling this shit up into the ridiculous on purpose?
