I think it's more fucked up that people want to reinterpret a relationship that's pretty clearly "Keith's dad died when he was young and Shiro was trying to be an adult role model for him since he no longer had one" to "Shiro was nice to Keith because he wants to fuck him."

I think a lot of this animu boy-fucking stuff can be attributed to people who think of relationships in video game terms, where friendship is a mid-game step before you slap your genitals against each other.

I see more “Keith is SO OBVIOUSLY in love with Shiro, he has done SO MUCH for him!! He TTLY deserves Shiro!” stuff, tbh. I appreciate all the level headed discussion about Sheith, but as someone who’s been knee deep in this shit for years the reason people ship any two male characters is the same: they find those two characters the most attractive and want them to bone, or, in some cases, want to bone a character without actually creating a self insert so they project on another character. They’re mad the creators stuck it in the end credits of the finale vs having scene upon scene of gay sex for 8 seasons because a kids show needs gay love for some reason.

Im not an advocate for hetero relationships either but at least hetero is the norm. Like 95% the norm.
