I wonder if the Nik thing was her "casting call"... do you think we'll ever hear about that again? In one of her
Q & A things she said she would talk about it later. How long do those things take to sort out before people can legally talk about the show?

I've done work that required a NDA etc. If she wasn't accepted? The NDA likely immediately went out of effect. She has no idea about other patients and people involved in the actual production. Even if she violated the NDA, it's not likely to be the kind where you promptly can be sued. It likely means she will just never be accepted for the show.

Honestly I bet what really happened is she failed to get considered some youtube colab from people actually losing weight. If she got to the casting call for 'Deathfats season whatever' we'd know. Simply put, she isn't the type they want. Every one on that show has shown some chance of changing. Hamber, despite claiming to be an expert has only averaged what, 10 pounds a month? They don't want her on that show.

You bitches just made me REALLY want to see Amberlynn Reid move in with Nikacado Avo-fucking-Daniel Tosh fed me in his underwear-cado. Fuck. He definitely needs a place to live. Him and Vegan Cheetah need to move into the Kentucky Gaycare and monetize the fuck out of it. What a clusterfuck of awesome that would be. :optimistic:

Yup, Big AL turned him down because she's "going through stuff right now" - also the fact that she gets her name listed with creators who are so big and actually treat youtube as a job is disgusting. Mostly because it's just going to inflate her already super morbidly obese ego past where its currently at. Furthering her idea that she's on the same level as YTers that have 1mil+ subs when her stagnant ass channel hasn't hit 100k in nearly 5 years. The only reason she's making thousands of dollars a month is because of the idiot hadders who haven't figured out how to use Adblock. Thanks idiots. A channel her size shouldn't be making more than $200-$600/month.

The mix of people each season on MSHPL and similar tends to usually include a couple of complete fails, who must come up in psych testing - nobody would have put any money on Steven Assanti losing weight, for instance. He'd been chucked out of every hospital for refusing to stick to protocols.

However, the show is selling us a story and a specific doc taking enormous risks, and the surgery is still paid for through insurance. So anyone wanting to go on needs insurance (Big Albert may think she can pay out of pocket but she has no idea how expensive specialist surgery is) and to be cleared by that insurance for the op. Insurance isn't keen to fund very expensive failures.

The other thing is that MSHPL patients have a much, much higher success rate - usually, long term prospects are dismal. The show gives us a carefully curated set of people who have been specifically chosen for their likelihood to fulfil the redemption arc beloved of US TV and they usually are either young or have a very strong, specific drive to succeed, such as children.

Gorl doesn't fit the successful roles so, if it WAS that show, she was likely considered as one of the potential fails, and there are only ever a couple at most per season. If the show resulted in a series of fails it would make us question why these extreme surgeries are even being done, and they already have to account for unknown factors such as a strong candidate failing or the ultimate unknown, a patient dying.

The ones that succeed do a whole hell of a lot more than we see and probably have to sign all sorts of commitments to therapy, dieticians, physios, fitness instructors etc etc. I think we all pick up on AL not really wanting to change if it involves effort - she'd choose thin if the Flab Fairy came and sucked it all out of her overnight, but what she really wants is to eat with no consequences and no criticism. Too many of those in any season and viewers would turn against the programme, not to mention Doc N really doesn't want a series of fails. So I guess if it WAS that or anything similar, she was only ever an outside chance as one of the expected fails anyway. And they no doubt have a whole load of those to choose from, all of whom at least have the basics like insurance.

Tl:biggrin:r She failed at being a fail. Happy noo year, gorls!

You know how Dr. Now always requires patients to lose weight on a very low calorie diet for a month or two before surgery?

The show never really tells you, but this is actually an insurance requirement. Even if AL had insurance, she'd still be required to follow a strict diet before she got approved for weight-loss surgery. Insurance companies do this because it cuts down on the failure rate.

I don't really have much faith in her ability to handle that.

Same she does not understand the need to commit and remove influences from her life but she makes no effort. Says she is going to weigh in, has a subway mukbang. Wants to lose weight and says she has made herself this way, has a burger king mukbang on the same fucking day.

Its all just a game to her in her bid to get to 100,000 the caveat is her health and sanity.

You really played us Hamber you played us super hard Gorl.

And AL said it wasn't MSHPL She had to be telling the truth because when someone said "congrats of getting on MSHPL she was like "ummmm I'm not going on that show, I'm not even close to 600elbees"

Amber will never admit 600lbs. I firmly believe she’s already there, but if she’s ever pushed to confront it, she’ll post a vid about how she’s throwing out scales and numbers don’t matter anymore because they just trap you in diet thinking with the daily fluctuations and muscle weighs more than fat etc, and she’s going to pay attention to how clothes fit from now on instead.

Which is good advice to someone normal-sized and dropping a stone at most. But she’ll do it to avoid ever saying the words SIX HUNDRED in a video.

Y'know, this has occurred to me before. Not just with AL, but a lot of obese people (the HAES contingent come to mind). It's like they can't tell the difference between being 10 pounds overweight, and being 450 pounds overweight like our gorl here. A lot of their advice/philosophy/"science" applies to normal-ish people with room for improvement, not the cast of MSHPL.

And they kiiiiiinda acknowledge this when they turn around and use their massive obesity as an excuse as to why "common sense" things like putting down the damn fork and going for a walk won't help them.

It's fascinating to watch the fatlogic in action sometimes.

It's the same way they bastardized the "Health at Every Size" plan. It was originally a run of the mill diet/"lifestyle" book that says you should practice healthy habits which include eating in moderation and getting exercise, at whatever size you happen to be at the time of reading the goddamn book. It said you should practice healthy habits, not "you are healthy". Weight loss is supposed to be a process of keeping up healthy habits over time. They took that to mean "I can be healthy at whatever monstrous weight I am, see, this book says so!" The author of the book took that and ran with it because the bitch wants to sell books. Fats can't seem to hear things errver the crunching of Cheetos. :geek:

Hamber has managed to eat so damn much that she's achieved escape velocity and cranked her BMI up to the triple digits.

You'd maybe think that would give infinifats some sort of a clue that dieting strategies meant for people who are in the ~40 BMI range are not exactly appropriate for them. Arguing about plant-based or keto or reducing portion sizes or which exercise is the best for weight loss is pretty pointless when doctors really should be shoving you on a protein-sparing modified fast as soon as they see you (this is what they do when you're inpatient, after all.)

They also have no recollection of what it physically feels like to be in shape. To the average joe, there are certain alarms to remind us that we are packing a few extra lbs. This may conceptualize itself in: shortness of breath, jeans becoming tight, that second chin creeping in, that slight thigh jiggle that wasn't there a few weeks ago etc... These are all normal indications that we need to start paying attention to our diets. We feel fatigued, sluggish and greasy.

For people like Amber, shortness of breath and second(and third) chins have always been the norm. They have no memory of what it's like to walk and not feel your lungs burning. They believe that they are entitled to the privilege of delaying dieting the way that a slightly 10lb overweight person can because they still consider themselves "normal". And until they truly discern how much of an anomalous freak they are, nothing will change.

This is why Amber NEEDS to be around normal, fit people 24/7 who don't tolerate her bullshit. She needs a constant reminder of what an abnormality she is. Now that I think of it, moving to NY or Cali would be excellent for her.

if you stare too long at the picture. Its like a wax doll or something... a fat wax doll.

If you gaze too long into the abyss, the abyss gazes into you.

I think what I'm saying is that staring at Amber pics will turn you into Amber, but in a gradual sci-fi body horror way, where the transmogrification starts with you not washing your hair and ends with an uncontrollable urge to buy orange chicken whilst wearing a Torrid dress as a top and lying about everything.

Mexican huh, wonder whose idea was that

Becky looks like hammered shit and hilarious after the fucking enabling talk they had they go to Mexican lmao

What a special little boy Necky looks in his hat.

I've always thought that Becky should use Amber as a springboard (not literally, obviously, as her feet would sink in to the flesh and never be returned) to become a fashionista 'Influencer' on the Twittergram. I can't help but think that baseball caps worn backwards indoors at night is going to be on trend as soon as Becky can show it to a wider audience (not wider than Amber, obvs).
