I’m stuck between pointing out that the Persona 5 outfit takes place in dreams and renders all cries of practicality completely pointless, the witch character already having a modest outfit and thus are showing their hand by trying to make it more “practical” somehow, and acting surprised that a show called Panty & Stocking has some unrealistic elements in it.

It’s almost like cartoons allow for a greater suspension of disbelief or something.

Aside from inevitably pissing off tumbrites, which is rewarding in and of itself, i think there'd be a lot of fun in not just sexualizing them, but making the sexualization "fit", for a lack of a better word. sounds like a nice exercise in outfit/character design.
