Arin Hanson / Egoraptor / Grump - "Hey I'm Grump!" of Game Grumps fame, hypocritical SJW doxer, shat himself recording a let's play

I made an account to comment specifically on Vernon, but it's nothing related to the show. Hope that's cool.

A few years back, I went to a Game Grumps Live show with a friend of mine. During the show, Ross and Vernon were running around the theater talking to people, picking volunteers to go up on stage, etc, and my friend and I had a short encounter with Vernon. Mostly just saying hi. She commented on the band shirt he was wearing.

Unknown to her, later that night on Twitter, Vernon made a post saying that he had met some beautiful girl and talked to her about whatever band and was attempting to find her. Friend didn't have a Twitter, someone else showed her the post after she had talked about the show. Sure enough it was her that he was talking about.

I think they talked for a short while, but then he sort of dipped on her. She laughs about it and seems to think pretty kindly of him but to me it seemed sort of sketchy, you know? This big Youtuber calls you the most beautiful girl in the world, asks for your Snapchat, then ghosts you? I don't know all the details about how much they talked, but to me once she told me he had just disappeared it rubbed me the wrong way. We live across the country, it's not like anything was going to come of it to begin with. Just seemed like a weird play to get a pretty girl's nudes because you're a popular Youtuber from a channel she likes.
Hey, thanks for joining the Farms!

Holy shit, what a scumbag. I don't expect any less from the SJW "woke on gays" crowd that Vernon is clearly a part of. It sounds like he dumped compliments on her when they exchanged Snapchats, she took it nicely but didn't give him what he wanted (noodles lol), and so he ghosted her. That's what these guys usually do.

If you (or anyone else for that matter) could dig up that tweet, that'd be great.

EDIT: Lol, found it.

Yep, the song is espousing views which aren't even relevant as a point of ridicule. And nope, there is no third album out yet because apparently it took years for Dan to get Arin alone in a room to write new material only just now.

They're working on it currently, and as far as I know it was supposed to release this year. Usually they release songs for at least a year or two before they drop a new album, so I kind of doubt it'll be out this year. I personally love NSP, but I didn't really care for Arin's shitty rapping in Starbomb. I'm surprised there was demand for a second album, let alone a third one.

The third Starbomb album was supposed to have been released last December; but - for whatever reason - it was pushed to March of this year, instead. They've been posting odd teaser pics (that look like closeups of sloppy looking needlepoint) for months now on their Twitter account to get the hype up. Got so annoyed by these non updates that I ended up unfollowing them.

As for the revamped Regretoid video - think I may be the only person not overly impressed by this animation (it's stiff in places, the lip synching if off and I always hated plastic looking hair). The previous cartoon animation was far better/expressive (seriously - CGI does not make for better content).

Yeah I actually watched it and I think I remember liking a 2D one I saw way better. I did like the character design work though, at least until Samus took her helmet off.

It says at the end that new album will be in April.

Not to intrude, but JonTron is too good for this, when he left the Grumps I was so glad.

And seems to be doing way better for it (far less uploads than the Grumps, but surpasses them in subscribers/view counts per video).

Yeah, I noticed that a little too late.

I wonder why they have to keep moving the release date further ahead. Is there really that much more tweaking left to do?

They've gotta build hype somehow as Starbomb isn't as popular as NSP, especially since Arin doesn't tour with them anymore.

But it's hard to rap for live shows! /sarcasm

Honestly - why agree to be part of a music group if you're not willing to commit to touring with the band? (does Starbomb even tour - with someone filling Arin's spot? If so - does Arin get a cut of the profits because he's one of the founding members? If so - that would suck).

I wonder if there's any truth to the rumor that Arin needed to be dragged into the recording studio to supply his part for this album. If that's the case, maybe he did such a shoddy job that they needed to re-record his lines; which is pushing production back.

Starbomb doesn't tour at all, they were briefly a part of NSP's 2017 tour but Arin dropped out and was replaced by MC Chris for the remainder of the shows. I don't understand why he can't commit to touring, I believe he cited being homesick or something when he stepped down halfway through the tour. A lot of fans were really pissed off, I mentioned this earlier in the thread but I saw NSP tour in 2017 and MC Chris didn't really bring in a crowd. A lot of fans were outside, smoking and complaining.

My assumption would be that Arin makes part of the sales from the Starbomb CD's, I think he helps Dan write the music as well? The lyrics, at least. I'm not sure if he still made money off of the tour despite him dropping out.

Arin's a shit rapper either way, I mean fans complained about his crappy rapping and beat boxing on the show itself!

Some of the songs are... Okay. I know Luigi's Ballad did really well, I remember Dan talking about even his dad being proud of them when it reached 1 million hits.

I think partnering with Arin helped bring in more fans, too. NSP didn't have a lot of fans before Dan went on the Grumps, and Starbomb helped bring in even more fans. Hell, theres's a photo online somewhere of NSP back in the day, where it's just Dan and like 50-100 people, they were headlining for some other, bigger band... Then it compares that photo to the sold-out stadiums that they play to now.

Chris also tends to forgive people for being edgy if they're otherwise genuine. For all of Shad's faults Chris won't drop him because Shad has always had his back and described him as the guy that would do anything for a friend. A good egg. Arin has dropped people for optics and likely would drop them for association.

Hi, speaking as a fan of Oneyplays, and as much as I hate to be That Guy, are we seriously so desperate to make one Video Game Man on the internet look better than another that we're trying to make "is openly friends with Shadman" a mark in his favor rather than a "Pobody's Nerfect" deal?

Egoraptor's a sanctimonious bitch but cmon.

Cmooooooon.

I do see that you've kinda wised up to it in a later post after having watched the OoT TIHYDP, but as OP and others before me have pointed out, alot of Arin's 'points' is him just criticizing 3D for lacking the 'easy overhead sight' of the 2D games by biased nature and tries to mask his poor analysis points with his humor.

But to give my own 2 cents on this video and thus prompt a 'Powerlevel' rating on this post:

So I actually sat down and put myself to rewatch the entirety of this video and from what I gather of this in summary:

- He thinks ALttP lacks the exploration depth the first Zelda has because it gives you directions and a preferred sequenced order of dungeons to do, probably not accounting for the fact that NES Zelda was cryptic as shit due to limited hardware/poor translation being the gambit at the time and the SNES game did this wisely so not to frustrate people into wandering around aimlessly and make it actually cohesive to play without a guide preventing stress.

- He thinks Z-targeting is 'complex and adds a strange disconnect' and that both camera angles don't mix. He misses the mark entirely on how Z-targeting was implemented so you won't lose track of a enemy's movement, strafe around it and actually land your blows in consistently in a 3D space until said enemy is defeated, and you can easily either click out of it or release Z to exit it.

- Arin rants how enemies just 'wait and do nothing', which is clearly enemies with attack and defense patterns implemented in their behavior, and all of his examples are easy to discern and dispatch quickly, to give a few examples: Deku Scrubs? They retreat by close proximity so hit with a projectile or bounce seed back. Stalfos? Backflip from their jumpslash and counter with your own. Lizalfos? Jab, shield their counter, jab, repeat. Big Skulltula's? Wait 2 seconds for their backsides to be revealed. Wolfos: Step back from their claw swipes and insta-kill them by stabbing in their exposed backs.

This is basic enemy behavior pattern 101 you see in the likes of your 2D favorites like Mega Man's Mettaurs or Sniper Joe's, Arin. You just lack the patience to learn patterns or bother putting up a shield for some of these enemy counters.

- Complains that searching in a room for a switch to hit to open a door 'breaks the movement and immersion and that doesn't qualify for fun'. That's the whole advantage of 3D, that with actual objects in a space the designers could create more elaborate places like these to hide switches in, rather than out in the open.

- Claims getting sidewinked by a sliding/rotating spike hazard you can't see is bad design when the game gives you plenty opportunity upon entering to see it's pattern and keep it's trajectory in mind. This is entirely to blame on his tunnel vision.

- And then finally he bitches about the waiting with talking to people, opening chests, locked out of area's for mandatory gate item reasons etc. takes so long in OoT when it's there for suspense and immersion, and again, it was their first shot at 3D and this extra space allowed the series to take a more cinematic approach to it's world. The only part I will agree with Arin on is that there are some long unnecessary story scenes that just reiterate the same point especially early on with 'Ganon is evil' and 'how the gods created Hyrule'.

Arin is the definition of 'talk the talk, but can't walk the walk'. He claims he can point out critical flaws to game design where mostly none exist, and when the time came for him to prove his worth, he failed spectacularly, requiring a walkthrough for a game he claims he beat multiple times. This makes his arrogance all the more delicious to mock.

By the way, glad to have you enlightened about his true colors and I agree that the Wind Waker LP wasn't that bad, but by god the times they spent just dicking around talking about random stuff when the game clearly gave Arin an objective like delivering a letter in Dragon Roost Island was just agonizing.

I can't believe im doing this but im debunking your attempt to debunk erin (but only on 3 points)

:

-You know that wait and do nothing not only implies but pretty much tells you they are extremely easy to fight, thing about pattern enemies in megaman or even dark souls is that they are hard and have progressive patterns, not the same pattern that you dont even need to follow to win (seeing as erin clearly didnt bother to learn them and breezed through the game)

- Complains that searching in a room for a switch to hit to open a door 'breaks the movement and immersion and that doesn't qualify for fun'. People have the same complaint about arkham games, this thing is never good in any game it sounds good in theory but in the end its just a menial tasks that instead of challenging is more going through the motions and fucking around till you open the next door to progress in the story, i dont understand how is this an advantage to a 3d landscape when some 2d games do this as well especially those from a top down perspective its bad in any game, not just OOT.

- He thinks Z-targeting is 'complex and adds a strange disconnect' and that both camera angles don't mix. He misses the mark entirely on how Z-targeting was implemented so you won't lose track of a enemy's movement, strafe around it and actually land your blows inconsistently in a 3D space until said enemy is defeated, and you can easily either click out of it or release Z to exit it.

Even nintendo didnt like Z-targeting and the Camera in OOT they completely reworked it for the 3ds edition lol, you are not debating erin at this point to me you are debating nintendo who admits that a system worked like fucking dick, which is why u suggest completely turning it off enemy lock systems worked much better sense.

EDIT:I forgot to mention I think erin is a sperg, but I think his twitter and wife are much more interesting than his video game hot takes.

I heard he blew out his voice because he wasn't used to the constant singing he had to do while touring.

I don't know if that's true or not, it's what I heard from my sibling who was a GameGrumps fan at the time.

It's hard to take a fan at their word, though. They're automatically going to come to their idol's defense because they don't want to entertain the idea that the idol is just an inconsiderate jerk who got bored and wanted to bow out; disregarding his bandmates/friends and fans alike in the process.

He wasn't coming to Arin's defense. I should have mentioned this was at the tail end of his time of being a fan, and was when he started reading up on rantgrumps. I said he was a fan because I wasn't paying any attention to it, but he was.

Kinda sad a dude who voice acts and talks for hours on end recording grumps couldn't maintain his voice, and wouldn't Danny have helped him to that end?
