Chris doesn't have schizophrenia, nor do most of the people online with "head mates." They're mostly just moody teenagers and college kids looking to be unique and establish an identity. Most of them would have been "otherkin" if they were born a bit earlier, when that trend was popular on Livejournal. Now they have "head mates," or "tulpas." Another 5-10 years it'll be something else equally ridiculous. Its roleplaying. Chris... well he's quite a bit more exceptional but he's rather unique in that regard.
Chris has an odd relationship with pop culture. He's truly a product of the 80s and its consumerist mindset, and yet at the same time he seems to lack any real awareness of some major franchises. He never talks about wrestling, or action movie stars like Arnie, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren, Bruce Lee, Mel Gibson or Bruce Willis. He never talks about He-Man, Dino Riders, Muscle Men, Thundercats, TMNT, Robocop or the major comic book companies Marvel, DC, Wildstorm or Image. He never talks about Duke Nukem, Doom, Wolfenstein, Battle Toads, Mortal Kombat, kung fu or horror movies. Its like he somehow avoided or missed most of the more stereotypically masculine toys, games and media of the 80s and 90s, except for Transformers. And Go-Bots.
Much like with certain other lolcows, I wonder if his parents somehow restricted what he had access to (unlikely, as they seemed pretty indulgent otherwise) or if Chris genuinely disliked anything that was too "macho" in his own estimate. If the latter, then it actually does go a long way towards
@Marvin's suggestions that Chris has always had gender identity issues. Chris actually was into MLP
before bronies were a thing interestingly enough. Of course that wouldn't be that unusual, but taken with his other issues its probably worth making note of.
